this is why it pays to pressure check the blocks water jackets before any build...welding while the cylinder head and block have been mated together and hoping for it to hold without warping and...

because they are bolts and bolts stretch...studs compress and do not exhibit symptons associated with bolts arp head studs are an investment in any build in my honest opinion the torque specs are...

also depending on how many valve jobs you've had you might actually lose compression...so be careful...

umm...why are you using plasti-gage to begin with?? take it to a good machine shop and let them mic and bore gage everything out correctly...plasti-gage is good for cam journal measurements not block...

about 12.4:1 is not accurate enough the only way to measure anything is before final blueprinted assembly...the motor has to come apart and you'll need to measure the chambers cc's with a glass...

a good, informative post for showing calculations but nothing beats measuring the real deal...most people do not have dummy cylinders laying around for different bores so piston volumes can be a tad...

cc the chambers, add HG thickness, and pick the CR...it's simple

H22 87mm forged pistons @ 11.5-12.0 dynamic CR and 2300cc's of volume will net you good results with Pro2's...

87mm bore prelude psitons will do the trick no problem...BUT I recommend you cc out the cylinder head and do some other various measurements to get your CR on the money...altogether stay away from K...

they are my block of preference for any HF23...55mm mains, solid girdle, and an H22 87mm bore capability make it a winner in my books...

think of the torque from an 87x97 configuration...
