Re: Kazz Ring Gear Bolts Won't Clear *Help*

As said before, when the countershaft is locked into place, you'll get all the clearance you are looking for. And it seems you found a solution to your 3-4th fork issue.

Re: 'Notchy' feeling when shifting

Update: I changed the oil and it feels awesome; none of my transmissions have ever shifted like this before. Night and day difference!

Never again will I use Honda MTF.

Thanks Mista Bone!

Re: b series tranny main shaft won't spin with bellhousing bolts on

I got that with a bent mainshaft recently.
Also, if two gears are engaged at the same time, it will lock up as well.
Make sure the case goes on easily and not with force.

Re: 4.785 fd trans or 4.4 fd?

I also have a JDM 96 ITR. I put in the 98 spec 4.785 Final 2 years ago.
I then put in the Mfactory 3.07 this year.
This transmission feels great, a nice balance between aggressiveness and...

Re: 4.266 Close ratio?

I'm in Trinidad so that fluid will have to be shipped overseas, and I know there's a lot of restrictions on oils in airplanes. It just called my freigh forwarders and they said there will be a 40%...

Re: Built B16 transmission LI,NY (Mfactory, Gearspeed, obx lsd)

Man, I know what you mean. I took 5 months to gather the parts for my transmission.
Cost me over $2000 USD as well.

Re: 4.266 Close ratio?

Okay, it's done!

I'm trying to find a suitable fluid for the spoon lsd before I put it in the car though.

As soon as I get that, I'll throw it in the car and give it a run.

Re: 4.4 final in ls trans

Buy a 3.07 1st, use the LS 1.9 2nd B16 3rd & 4th and the LS 5th.
The 1st two gears for traction, the 3rd and 4th for close mid speed acceleration and the 5th for your highway cruising.

Re: 4.266 Close ratio?

I got the gears, but not exactly the ratio I wanted. It's the 1.695 3rd, 1.384 4th and 1.000 5th.
I should have the 3.070 1st gear this week.
I've decided to use the 4.266 final drive.

In 2-3...

I have the 4.785 in a '96 ITR tranny with 3.070 1st.
