I really can't disclose too much company info, but as far as I know the plan is to relaunch and get everyone their parts/refunds. I don't blame you for posting, I would have probably done the same...

before you go nuts replacing the tranny, or tearing the tranny apart, check your shift fork. my teg did that a few months back and it turned out the shift fork had come loose.

if it is not timing, bleed your coolinng system.

spray some water (do not use a hose!) on your vac hoses to check for leaks. maybe an exhaust leak?

does the car bog when you drive it at all?

I had the same problem on both my tegs. with my GSR it was a small leak at the top of my radiator. replaced the radiator and smell was gone.

on the LS turned out the upper radiator hose was not...

i agree with pretty much what everyone said. i would also add make sure all your maintenance is up to date on the car too. makes no sense to mod a car that isn't running well.

thank you for all the replies. i will be following your advice and test the hoses for leaks, check the pvc valve etc.

i have a feeling its the Intake manifold so i'll be removing it if all else...
