Re: Paint impact on car's price

Got a quote to get it painted and they said to do it decently would be 1,500+ so I don't know if that's a good option.

It's a common problem with 06-07 civics. They used shit paint and it...

Paint impact on car's price

I'm getting ready to sell my car and trying to figure out what I want to list it for.

It's a 2006 Civic LX Coupe with 95k miles. BB in good condition is 6,700 but I'm curious how you would price...

AC comes and goes

The ac on my 06 has been acting up lately. It will blow cold then warm for a minute, then cold again.

I checked freon levels and they are good. The ac fan on the passenger side is working.

Re: OE or AM rack and pinion

Not particularly worried about the warranty. The AM part from any parts store comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

On top of that I'm going to get rid of the POS. I have 70k miles and I've had...

OE or AM rack and pinion

I have a leaky rack and pinion. I'm having a buddy swap it out for me and I'm just curious if there is any advantage to using a Honda rebuild, vs. an aftermarket rack.

Anyone have any install...

Re: Tricks to get the paint "wet?"

I can't imagine putting wood oil on your cars paint is going to be good for it. Wax/Sealent helps protect against uv rays, where as oil will probably magnify them. Its like if you put on baby oil...

Re: "Professional" Detailers

Took it back today. From what I can tell they did a pretty good job.... except for the hole they burnt through the paint.

I have to take it back Monday to have them re paint it and re-rebuff it.

Re: "Professional" Detailers

I may end up taking it back, I'm just nervous that they will make it worse.

I'll take pictures tomorrow to show you guys what it looks like and get some advice on what sort of attention it needs.

Re: "Professional" Detailers

Luckily, they didn't hit it too hard. The swirls are shallow. The paint is still really hazy towards the edges like they didn't even hit it at all. In a couple of weeks when it sets up a bit better...

Re: My Buff Job on a 2008 Accord Coupe. Automatic Car Washes Are The Devil!

Good job. I feel you on the claustrophobic feeling. I wish I had a nice open area to work on my car. My garage is probably cramped a little more than yours.

Re: Presidential Detailed: 1994 Porsche Turbo S 3.6

I hope you give your customers the process pictures so they can truly appreciate the work and progress that is made. I don't know how much you charge, but if you were in my area I would sure as hell...

Re: 2011 Honda CRZ Brochure leaks...9.7s 0-60 :(

That's strange. First they state that they are going to focus on economy cars. Then, out of nowhere, they produce an economy car!!!

"Professional" Detailers

I just got my car back from the show and had the rear bumper/trunk lid repainted after a collision. After they painted it they "polished it" which more or less just put a TON of swirl marks in it....
