Re: Need help. Building a $500 race car.

Most people have those parts laying around and would probably just give them to you with the exception of the transmisson.

Re: how much will I benefit from swapping an SI tranny?

Night and day. If the trans is good definitely do it. Basically your bolting on a half second drop in your quarter mile time.

Re: Need help. Building a $500 race car.

The factory ecu will be fine, a generic chip will hurt more than it will help you. Dyno tuning will only pull a couple of horsepower on a basically stock motor and wipe out your budget in the process.

Re: Need help. Building a $500 race car.

D16A6 cam
D16Z6 intake manifold,
B18 Throttle body preferably off a LS model for ease of conversion
99-00 EX exhaust manifold or a cheap header.
EX/SI trans will make a huge improvement....

Re: How to remove cat heat shield

You can also put a hose clamp around the heat shields and tighten it down to keep them from moving. Its quick and you dont have to worry about damaging the 02 sensor wires.

Re: Vtech in a crv

Lots of bad info and some good info mixed in as well.

First if your CRV is a 5 speed like mine you do not have to worry about super long gears bogging the motor down. Gear ratios are very similar...

Re: question: will rsx-s rims fit on a 2001 cr-v?

Yes the 02-04 RSX fit. I have them on my 98 LX. Offset makes the spokes a little close to the brake caliper bracket but I haven't had any issues as of yet. Also any 16 or 17 inch Honda center cap...
