Yep, we're all apart of that website which has great information. But very little of the competitors in FSAE are Honda fanatics, so I'm looking to brainstorm ideas from Honda guys who have experience...

Re: CBR600 engine in Formula SAE Race Car (knockout)

Anything is fair game as long as the displacement remains at 600cc.
If you look at the 2nd picture, you see the cone air filter above the driver's head. It's a bit of ram air, but not much.

I'm...

Re: CBR600 engine in Formula SAE Race Car (Jasper_db1)

Yep, as of now, she goes 0-60mph in 3.9s. A little heavy at 477 lbs, but it still pulls 1.3g on the skid pad. We specifically use the 2000-2001 Honda CBR600 F4i. We have our own engine dyno on...

Re: (TTR)

I'm not sure why. The owner of the dyno is mostly a domestic guy tuning the 7,8,9,10 second cars. He brings in another guy to do all the honda tuning. The Honda guy is a great tuning artist and gets...

Yea, Hondata would be nice, but my tuner doesn't support/use Hondata. I'll probably call it a year once I install the Comptech Icebox as I just bought a 2001 Highlander V6 as my winter car and will...

Re: 205 WHP LS GRAPH INSIDE Pump gas 93 OCT. (TTR)

Oh ok, if it's just a matter of machining, we can figure that out no prob. Running 404 cams would be my last change if I wasn't happy with the power made with everything else. My Brian Crower Stage...

Re: 205 WHP LS GRAPH INSIDE Pump gas 93 OCT. (BearsEK-Kingmotorsports)

Thanks for the info.

Keeping my header for now and not spending $1000 on a Hytech sounds very good to a poor 3rd year engineering student lol. I'd really like to bump the compression with the...

Re: 205 WHP LS GRAPH INSIDE Pump gas 93 OCT. (BearsEK-Kingmotorsports)

Any step-by-step numbers for any individual mods?

I'd like to know what to expect if I go with P30s and raise my CR to 11:1, and a Hytech style header with a full 2.5" Exhaust. (From my current DC...

Yes, Crower valvetrain kit. That's letting me rev to 7500rpm. I'd like some more peace of mind with ARP Rod bolts at some time.

Crower said their new Ti-Retainers (which I have) should never...

Nope, she's bone stock.

We thought the dyno was reading high the first time, so we totally shut it down, and reset the entire rig. Same numbers, and same numbers a month later.

Seems to be a...

Re: (hybrid_vtec)

Nice setup hybrid_vtec.

I'm currently at 175whp (Mustang Dyno) on my B18B on perfect compression numbers. Running Brian Crower Stage 2s, Tuned with Uberdata, 13.1-13.3 AFR across the board.

I...

Re: Ramhorn manifolds...Where in the powerband will you see the most gain? (RC000E)

Okay, so its definately BLOX that is the good knock-off brand, not OBX. I mean the piece looks like your average SSAutoChrome, but I figured I'd ask. I've told him the best route to go is the custom...

Re: Ramhorn manifolds...Where in the powerband will you see the most gain? (CapnToll)

What about those OBX ramhorn turbo manifolds? The pipes seem smaller than the expensive ramhorns, but the prices are really attractive on eBay.

Re: Ramhorn manifolds...Where in the powerband will you see the most gain? (PSI2HI)

One of those gold/brass headers, looks cool, but seems really small.

Moot point anyways now, as he's gonna change it up for the GSR. Those Ram-horns must be expensive for a reason lol.

Ramhorn manifolds...Where in the powerband will you see the most gain?

My buddy is thinking of spending the money for a good Ramhorn setup on his boosted GSR swap. (Turbonetics Super 60 T3/T4).

He's looking for mods to increase midrange....where does the Ramhorn...

Re: (JCushing)

Interesting. My mod on SHO had P30s, 404s, 3 angle valve job, the works on his B18C1. He went from JDM ITR to a Rage, gained 4whp peak, 20whp midrange.

Re: (SuperTomcat)

The Hytech or good replica (Rage), and most true Tri-Y headers with a 2.5" collector are the next step up from the JDM ITR. There are much bigger gains midrange and a few up top to be seen when going...

Re: b16 pistons in LS (mikesdb7)

I wouldn't suggest skimping on tuning even with just a mild all motor build for 170whp. Ask your tuner what he likes to use to tune, and go with that. An ECU hack like the SAFC isn't ideal for...

Re: b16 pistons in LS (mikesdb7)

What mods do you have already? JDM P30 pistons in an LS will yield 11:1 Compression. A set of cams will take advantage of the higher compression. You can probably push out an average of 175-180whp...

Re: Hytech vs Rage vs Ebay Tri Y header (Evil Ryu)

Well, consider it 20whp over stock pretty much. With the ITR 4-1, he was making like 184whp on a setup that SHOULD have yielded 200+whp. Where exactly in the powerband, I'm not sure. I made a thread...
