If you have 1cu ft of air and you put it in a 6" box you will have MORE pressure than if it were in a 12" box. Same principal should apply to tube.

Yep... if there is a bit sticking out, put a nut on it and weld in the center. The heat really helps loosen the bolt.

If its recessed, you can weld a rod onto it and do the same thing.
