Re: My car is in bad shape! :(

It generally is but I have seen it be light grey/whitish too. It is really hard to say without actually being there in person. I know it sounds dumb but have you smelled the smoke?

Re: My car is in bad shape! :(

The smoke in your start-up video looked like a catless car running rich to me. Are you completely catless? Tuned?

Re: Do quiet 205/45-16 tires even exist?

Also, I have noticed that almost all of my directional summer tires have been louder than the asymetrical ones. The Sumitomo HTR ZIIIs I have now are some of the quietest tires I have run.

Re: Honda announces the end of production of the Civic Type R

I am cherry picking here:

Re: Honda announces the end of production of the Civic Type R

Because that Euro Civic Hatch has the same type of rear suspension as my bass boat trailer (hyperbole). If I wanted a twist-beam rear suspension I would get a Chevy Cobalt SS.

Re: Honda announces the end of production of the Civic Type R

This is simply false and your anecdotal evidence doesn't make it any more true. Honda is currently the 2nd most reliable vehicle manufacturer behind Scion according to Consumer Reports (who use...

Re: 237-hp UK Mugen Civic Type R test driven by Fifth Gear

If I wanted a torsion beam axle in the rear I would get a Fit.

Long champs, not a fan of mesh wheels on Hondas.

Re: My car is in bad shape! :(

There is some truth to this statement but the dealership is definitely dicking him over by first doing a small warranty repair when the same mod was present then denying the claim when it was a more...

Re: 94 Ls: Tires Getting Eaten Away

Is actual tread surface the thing being "ate" or is it the sidewall? If it is the tread surface I would also check your alignment, toe eats tires and if you lowered your car without getting it...

Re: Good Bang For Buck?

Glad you are happy with them. Those were one of my favorite DD summer tires and I will likely shop them along with the others listed for my next set of rubber.

Re: problem with 09civic si 4dr

Heh, I am looking at Volkswagens and in addition to the cacophony of rattles that occurs in any VW they have notoriously finicky TSI engines and a fake electronic LSD. If I were the OP I would worry...

Re: My car is in bad shape! :(

I just did a Google search of "Mazdaspeed 3 Broken Engine Mount" and got results for people breaking their engine mounts as recently as late 2009. Also, I have seen a number of UOAs from the 2.3L...

How many blown engines and broken engine mounts have you seen?

Re: Budget full coilover, raceland (ep3 application)

This happened to me when I put on my A-Spec suspension. Attach your spare tire to the hub and slowly rotate it while pushing it back into the transmission. Mine popped in before I had made one full...

Re: dealer vs garage maintenance

My car is faster after going to the Stealership when compared to the "No-Name" garage because my wallet is considerably lighter. Otherwise I have noticed no difference in the quality of work. Once...

Re: need opinions on these tires

While this may be true for some of their tires it is disingenuous to suggest that the entire line is fast wearing. I am not a big Falken fan but they make some decent tires and not all of them are...

Re: Good Bang For Buck?

Ok, no need to shout. ;) I would recommend the Fuzion ZRi or Yokohama S.drive for you. The ZRi is a bit cheaper and performed very similarly to the S.drive in a side by side test but both tires are...

Re: Good Bang For Buck?

We need more information. What type of driving do you plan to do with them? Are you going to run a separate set of winter and summer tires? What are you looking for out of the tires?

Re: Nitto Neo Gen Reviews Wanted

This isn't even close to the truth.

1.) Good for Drag=/=Good for AutoX
2.) NO all-season tire is going to outperform dedicated summer tires in an autocross or drag racing situation.
3.) ...

Re: Civic Build Quality...

Diesel fuel is one step away from oil so it is a much better cylinder lubricant which adds to the longevity of those engines. Also, almost all of the components in a compression ignition engine are...

Re: which car is better?

I own an EP3 which has a very similar platform to the RSX-S (minus a good engine) and from personal experience this suspension design is very limited in its performance potential. I would get the...

Re: worth the price for an ep3?

Heck no that is far too much $$. I am probably going to be selling my EP3 (need something with 4 doors) in the next year and I am not looking to get much more than $5,000 out of it for a bone stock,...

Re: DC5 or EP3 Please help

I have an '03 EP3 and if I had the choice to do it over I would've gone with the RSX Type-S in a split second. I like how the EP3 looks and the hatchback is very useful but the K20A3 isn't half the...
