Re: Oxygen Sensors

They are not interchangeable. The one wire heats up from the exhaust to produce the signal. The 4 wire has a heater element in it to heat it up faster so it starts producing the signal quicker. Also...

Re: Failed smog 15 mph HC (PPM)

Try advancing the timing to 18btdc, That will make sure you get a complete burn of the fuel. Might raise NOx but you have room to go higher. I agree with 89octane too.

It has been doing this for 13 years. It is kinda it's...

Re: PSA: EF clutch pedal failure imminent!

My fix was drilling the holes out and installing a 10mm bolt for the assembly to ride on and I removed the sleeve that the nylon washers sit on. Been working great for the last year.

Re: smog check failed

The tech states that it was at tdc and if that is the case that might just cause a CO failure. Find a timing light!!

Re: smog check failed

Your idle rpm is out of spec, either too high or too low. Also honda's timing is not tdc it is either 12,15,16, or 18 btdc. Sounds like you took it to a rookie.....

Re: Quick timing question

On your 95 acura the timing should be between the two red marks. The two red marks are the + or - two degrees from spec

Re: New brake issue after installing new parts

When you get home I would remove the whole line and see if you can blow thru it both ways or just one way, That way you will know it is working. It should be only one way.

Re: New brake issue after installing new parts

When you installed everything did you disconnect the vacuum valve from the line from the intake to the booster. You might have installed it backwards. There should be a little arrow on it!

Re: s2000 failed smog High NOx

Hi S,

You either had a pretty good exhaust leak or the emission machine's hose has a leak (going off of the 02 readings). By your post's it sounds like you didn't have that big of an exhaust leak....

Re: Check Engine Light at High Speeds 91 civic

Hi Benjamin,

I'm not only a smog tech but I own a 88 crx si.

Going by the O2 you need a cat. The cat uses the O2 to lower the HC's and CO's Should be below .3 for both.
