Re: 93 prelude si w/ jdm h23 vtec blue top..idle issues

I'm convinced there must be a root problem if you're getting all those codes. The ECU is OBDI correct? All those codes point to dizzy and crank pulley wiring which are conveniently the main...

Re: 93 prelude si w/ jdm h23 vtec blue top..idle issues

Yup code 36, dead giveaway. And VTEC like I said as well. For VTEC you just have to run a couple wires and a ground, there are plenty of write ups to explain how. It's more than likely a simple fix...

Re: 93 prelude si w/ jdm h23 vtec blue top..idle issues

Well the codes you're getting and the tach not working sound very similar to problems that 6G accord guys have when they H swap and have to hack and extend the harness so I'd check all the...

Re: Wouldn't you like a 6th gear?

^Exactly. It's not like they added a 6th gear to a close ratio 5 speed, it's a 6 speed with it's own gear ratios and final drive. F series is the only way to go if you want to be at 3k @80mph

Re: TO GO V-TECH OR NOT????

Alright well you're still not making a lot of sense because he's talking about ditching the F22 head in the first place and the major difference in a B20V and G23/22 will be low to mid range torque. ...

Re: TO GO V-TECH OR NOT????

That's good to know. I've been thoroughly impressed with my H but knowing it can beat or at least match a C5 makes me even happier I spent $1900 instead of $4900 for a full swap as long as it...

Re: Wouldn't you like a 6th gear?

For one the K series spin the opposite direction than an H. And what could you accomish with 6 gears that you can't with 5? There is an assortment of H or F trannies you could use if you want short...

Re: 93 prelude si w/ jdm h23 vtec blue top..idle issues

Definitely sounds like user error. I wouldn't be surprised if you swapped the motor back and still had an issue. The fact that you thought it would be ok to run a non VTEC ecu at all only verifies...

Re: TO GO V-TECH OR NOT????

^Did you just say VTEC isn't anything unless it's a B? An H22 has way more gonads stock than any stock B16/18/20 I've driven. Granted I haven't driven a B18C5 but my H22A was well worth the cost of...

Re: steering wobble while cruising, new rack and tie rods

Similar problem here with new inner/outer tie rods, new-ish Ksports, balanced tires and fresh alignment. I suspect at 250k mine is due to worn anchor bolts and upper balljoints and possibly a...

Re: *sigh* Help! My '93 Prelude is driving me insane!

I'd clean the EGR passage and see where you're at afterwards. I had a huge problem with drive-ability until I poured Seafoam down the EGR opening and let it soak for a couple hrs, then when and...

Re: To those who race with 94-96 center console

I don't auto-x but I do canyon runs and pretty often and I've never had an issue, just so long as you don't wear any clothing that will get caught on the e-brake while shifting.

Re: Where to find tsx projector?

Skip the A4. There are better options out there. I have the Morimoto Mini H1 kit from TRS and I'm very happy with the results. For example: the cutoff, width of output, and quality of parts is...

Re: Time for the first major service H22A, any suggestions?

Yeah I've never done an adj. warm and don't ever plan to lol. I'm worried about the HG because I don't want to screw up doing the loosening and re-torquing process and have to find a way to bring my...

Re: Time for the first major service H22A, any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply.

The clutch is fairly new, so it should be fine. If not then I have another lightweight flywheel and clutch/pressure plate assembly on hand.

Balance shafts will stay in...

Yes it does, all the H motors do if Im not mistaken. Hopefully the bleed does it because I have no other ideas after that lol
