An update in case anyone else comes across this: it should be obvious, but don't torque every single fastener for the TXV valve to 23 ft-lb.... or you'll be sorry... the three different fasteners...

A/C expansion valve torque specs for 1998 Honda Accord LX 4 cylinder

What the title says: A/C expansion valve torque specs for 1998 Honda Accord LX 4 cylinder. For some reason, my AllData subscription doesn't have a diagram for the evaporator overhaul that includes...

Noticing some dust while inspecting timing belt; what's up with that?

I have the valve cover and upper timing belt cover off on my 1998 Honda Accord 4 cylinder (replacing leaking valve cover gasket, etc.). So I have a chance to get a look at the timing belt.

I'm...

I drive a 1998 Honda Accord LX 4 cylinder VTEC, MT. Need to replace the o-ring between the distributor and the head. It sounds like the thing to do is set the crankshaft to TDC, and make sure the...

According to a friend of mine and also the Honda manual, a bad MAP sensor just makes engine run poorly (good). But he also says crankshaft position sensor can make it not run at all. Any thoughts...

Another anti-theft idea I just had... what if you had a switch *inside* the ECU itself that enabled/disabled fuel injectors? Presumably you could hide your wiring very easily, and a thief would...

Re: (fcm)

I think ya missed the point. My idea is *not* to have a *single* microcontroller activating various standalone hidden relays, which has been done before. That setup would look like this:

HIDDEN...

Well, my big issue with a simple fuel pump switch as mentioned throughout this entire thread is that if someone finds it, you are screwed. My idea of an ideal security system is one that takes a lot...

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of the black/yellow line that runs into the distributor, which is what delivers the power for the spark plugs. But yeah, the yellow/green would work just...

One more question... if you put your kill switch on the distributor (spark) instead of the fuel pump, would this effectively immobolize the vehicle without causing any damage (whether the car is...

Would the smaller diameter in the core outlet hose for the heater core be the cause?

I don't know how I would have possibly broken anything on the radiator itself. I haven't noticed anything...

Consequences of installing relays in various parts of 97 Civic

I'm looking at building a hopefully more sophisticated/challenging immobilizer/security system for my 97 Civic.

Re: ** Mother of all How-to's : 96-98 EK Manual Climate swap to 99-00 EK Electronic ** (chameleon)

Wouldn't it be easier to do the following, assuming you knew what pins went with what:

1. Replace resistor with power transistor in the blower, instead of replacing the entire blower.
2. Add...
