I'm talking about the exhaust manifold, not the intake manifold, I'm sure a spacer wouldn't last a minute on the exhaust side.

I'm not really sure, I set the knob to max at 350 or so, but I've had people look at the meter on the front of the machine while I'm welding other things and the dial is way off from what it shows. ...

I use 1/8" on thicker aluminium frequently, I make 3/16" thick skid plates for Subarus and end up with a lot of scrap to make other things out of. The 3/32" just blows apart when welding the thicker...

The black shit is from contamination in the weld, you need to prep better for that. I find that adjusting the AC balance will cut down on the etched part, but of course you don't want it at 100%...

The factory buns are non tapered, BSPT or something like that. For the autometer sender you want to tap it with an NPT tap like stated above. We've done this a few times with pressure senders on...

I agree with what both of you have said (9bells and .john.). I work almost entirely on Subarus these days, and my roommate works at a shop nearby on Minis, it's amazing the [low] quality of parts...
