Re: Crxguy's 1990 CRX frame-up restoration thread. (56k warning)

What a build. Just went thru all the pages. I don't normally go for non-oem interior but yours is tasteful and flows.

As for the stock ride height. I was told way back when that the springs from a...

Re: Sputter/hiccup issue on RD1

Ok. The IACV was cleaned, it's working fine as far as I can tell. My FITV was out to lunch, but that's been fixed. This was causing my whistling/air knife noise. Idles a lot nicer without...

Re: anyone tried jdm p72 a/t ecu?

Why not a D16Y8 ecu with a chip? These come in A/T and are super common. Might be worth just running the ECU and seeing if everything will run. Sure it won't be on the right maps, but it should...

Re: What did I do wrong?

The glazing on the non-teeth side of the belt, including the scour marks do indicate a bad tensioner. But you will know when you open up the timing belt covers.

Always tension using the Honda...

Re: 2010 crv exl dead battery

Check to see how much your car is draining when shut off. Most cars drain the battery over time, due to keeping presets/alarms powered. Check yours and compare to factory spec. If you are draining at...

Hahaha, sorry man, I was being a dick when I posted haha. Should of been nicer. And I was trying to troll you, I didn't check any part numbers (could care less to check). It worked tho! And clearly I...

Re: Sputter/hiccup issue on RD1

No oil in the spark plug tubes. That's all fine and double checked.

I have set the base idle, it was a little high so I turned it down. This helped a bit, my cold start idle was 2500rpm and now...

Re: Lifted EBP CRV work log

Hey man! I just realised you are following me on Instagram! Nice V! Good luck your project.

How wide are the cross beams on the newer rack? I have a 99 and the cross beams don't seem that wide! I...

Re: Sputter/hiccup issue on RD1

Did not set idle speed by disconnecting IACV. Ran out of time when I was doing the swap and had to get the car on the road ASAP. I will do it this weekend when the warmer weather is here.

As far...

Re: Half shaft question

Cool story bro...I had already checked part numbers. But a B16 and B18 half shaft pull different part numbers, so their goes your theory.

Sunday morning I will swap out for the teg one and see....

Re: 01 CR-V vibration at 60+mph

Axles wear out naturally, and pending your driving style.

Turning lock to lock and listening for any clicking is an indicator that the bearings are worn internally. If you ever end up having one...

Re: Changed Dizzy now car wont start - Crank No Start - Have Fuel Have Spark

If you replace a dizzy with a dizzy, and the new dizzy is a known good one, then it's mounted on backwards. Honestly, give it a try. I've seen this be the issue more then once. If you have taken it...

Google tells me it should work...so I'm going to try it. It's about a 45 minute job to do so not a big deal. If I don't...

Re: Ignition issue; Ignition fires once then stops firing.

Do you check those sensors when they are warm? I've had issues with distributors going bad when they are operating temp but run find on a cold start. Just food for thought.

Have you tried to...

Re: exhaust valve stuck

LS integra will have the same head. I believe the CRV heads are identical to LS heads, even with the PR4 stamp.

If you are swapping heads, consider a B16 head for some fun VTEC action.

Half shaft question

Is the half shaft on the CRV the same as on any other matching year B series?

My half shaft bearing/seal is toast and it's causing a lot of vibrations. I have one from a 96 Teg, but I don't want...

Re: Tough little b20 finally died! The build begins...

OBX is junk. I wouldn't buy their header in my opinion. But good luck with build!

The JDM B20 header is better flowing then the USDM counter part. I noticed this factory upgrade when I did my JDM...

Re: 01 CR-V motor mount replacement

Re: 01 CR-V vibration at 60+mph

And let's not rule out snow/ice! Packed snow and ice in the rims will cause the balance to be out. I've had a bad balance which went away once I cleaned off the ice/snow from the rim. Keep that in...

Re: 01 CR-V vibration at 60+mph

Things that affect wheel vibrations:

- Tire Balance
- Axle balance (usually signs of wearing out)
- Prop shaft balance
- Wheel bearing/hub assembly.

Tire balance is cheap, usually around...

Re: Anybody ever SeaFoam a CRV?

Why change the plug? If it's fouled but still good you can clean the tip and reuse them. I clean mine every 20XXXkms with a soft steel brush, and then I regap and reuse for another 20XXXkms. And I...

Re: Sputter/hiccup issue on RD1

Part of a full tune up is to replace plugs/wires/cap/rotor. And to buy a JDM swap and not do those things is ridiculous in my opinion. Since they stack engines the caps/wires/outward facing sensors...

Re: 2000 CRV build thread

The real mistake was mounting those rims/tires in the middle of winter. Oh well...

Always use a steel rim in the winter. Sure, looks like crap, but they can take a good beating. Nice car tho!
