okay so I bridged the service connector and got codes 41,65, and 70
41 and 65 are o2 sensor codes and 70 says automatic transaxle. Not very specific.

When it starts up cold it is at about 1500rpm but goes down to about 1100 after about 10 seconds. Eventually settles down at about 800-900rpm. The harsh shifting into gear can be felt at all these...

Idle did seem a bit higher than normal but I thought it was just due to the colder weather. Fluid level looks good. Not sure how old it is as we just purchased the vehicle about 5000km ago. No CEL at...

But the transmission is still very harsh when I shift into drive or reverse. Where do you suggest I look to fix this. I really do appreciate all your replies. They have been very helpful

misread the chart. went out and retested the switch and everything checks out okay.

okay so I tested the ignition switch as indicated in the manual using the 5P and 3P connectors. In position 1 there was no continuity between the WHT/BLK (5P) and YEL (5P) wire. Everything was okay...

I disconnected the gear position switch and the circuit still blew. I'm going to attempt to test the ignition switch. Any other suggestions?

Not sure I follow you on that. What does unplugging the distributor have to do with it? I've been checking for shorted wires but haven't found any.

that is definitely not happening because I was able to jump that wire perfectly fine and start the car.
