Re: Oil light on during idle after warmup

Well, put a new oil sending unit in and switched to 10w40.

I couldn't replicate the oil light coming on even after turning the idle back down.
We'll see how it goes under normal driving.

FYI...

Re: Oil light on during idle after warmup

10w30 is in it as per owners manual.
I'll try a thicker oil on my next change.

Probably easier to just replace the sending unit than check oil temp at different rpms etc.So, on the sending unit. ...

Re: Oil light on during idle after warmup

Yeah, looked it up. That's gonna suck if I need the oil pump replaced.
Wish I had known at 300k miles when the timing belt was done.

So, on the oil pressure sending unit...

Anyone have a link to the fed law on this, is it for drivers only or does it include passenger bags?

Oil light on during idle after warmup

Hi,

92 Accord, 323k miles. Oil light comes on after the engine is warmed up, but only at idle.
It usually only comes on after being on the highway for awhile and then coming to a stoplight.

I...

Re: 92, Speedomter not working

Thanks.

I guess the good news is I don't have to take apart the dash,
the bad news is that there are a lot of hoses in the way of this,
and the unexpected news is the variation in price from the...

92 Accord Front Bushings

Hi,

All the front bushings (at least all the ones that are immediately visible when you take the front wheel off) are cracked.

What is the urgency of replacing these?

Thanks,
Scott

Re: 92 Accord running a bit off (smetzger)

I think I finally got this solved. An additional symptom was oil on the spark plugs. I had the valve cover gasket replaced. This solved the oil in the spark plugs for a few thousand miles. But...

Re: 92 Accord: Oil in spark plugs (fleetw00d)

Its oil where the plug wires attach.

A valve cover gasket kit was installed 4000 miles ago. Not sure if the o-rings were replaced, I believe they were.

Thanks,
Scott

92 Accord: Oil in spark plugs

I have oil in my spark plugs.

About 4000 miles ago I was getting oil in the spark plugs, so I had the valve seals replaced.

What could be causing the valve seals to go bad (other than...

92 Accord distributor dust cover

Hi,

I changed the cap and rotor today.
Under the cap and rotor is a what I would call a dust cover. It crumbled to pieces as I was trying to get the rotor off.

Is this piece necessary?...

Re: Engine Flooded, 92 Accord (hondadude)

Not sure if it was getting spark or not. I have been having intermittent stalling problems (but this is the first time on a very short trip).
Maybe the wires, cap and rotor are part of the problem...
