Re: 99 coupe overheating in traffic

Is your radiator fan kicking on?
Hows your coolant level? (have a look in the overflow reservoir, and in the rad when the car is COLD)

Re: no clutch pressure...

The slave cylinder is attached to the front of the tranny just behind the radiator.. it's got a large black boot covering half of it, have a look for leaks there.

Otherwise, check master cylinder...

Re: Honda Civic 200 Battery Overheating Help please.

Do you have a multimeter? They're cheap, and it will give you an idea of how much voltage is making it to your battery. With the car running you should get around 14 volts. It very likely has nothing...

Re: 2000 stock civic dx hb, coolant slowly disappearing from overflow reservoir

Are OEM head gaskets for these motors MLS (multi layered steel)? If not, is going that route better for longevity?

Re: 2000 stock civic dx hb, coolant slowly disappearing from overflow reservoir

Nope, the car is bone stock. There's no smoke that I can see from the tail pipe at all.

Re: 2000 stock civic dx hb, coolant slowly disappearing from overflow reservoir

Nah.. just looking to bring it back to factory.. it's a DD that just needs to work. Besides, a new header won't help the torque monster that is the d16y7 :)

Re: 2000 stock civic dx hb, coolant slowly disappearing from overflow reservoir

So the leak has temporarily stopped (added a sealer to the coolant)... but I'm on borrowed time and the head is coming off soon.

I'm looking to do the following since it will all be apart anyway:...

Re: 2000 stock civic dx hb, coolant slowly disappearing from overflow reservoir

The cap is brand spanking new, it went on with the new rad and upper/lower rad hoses.

That was my first thought too... but I hope not, lol.

Just for the hell of it, I'm going to get it this...

Re: 2000 stock civic dx hb, coolant slowly disappearing from overflow reservoir

So I tried to bleed the system on an incline. There were a few little bubbles that came out as the fan kicked on each time... I idled it for a good 20 minutes and let the fan kick on about 5-6 times....

Re: 2000 stock civic dx hb, coolant slowly disappearing from overflow reservoir

I haven't tried to burp the system on an incline yet, so I'll give that a shot. Keep the rad cap off though right?

Re: Entry level system - amp recommendation? (fcm)

Would using the speaker level input instead of the one RCA IN (from HU to amp) make any difference as far as sound quality goes?

Is there any benefit in general to using speaker level input?
