I learned a lot from community college, like the other guys said, anything else is a ripoff. CC instructors are as good as anywhere else. But I also agree the biggest thing is to practice practice...

Maybe you are slowing down your travel speed when adding filler without realizing it? That's a problem I had early on, the added task of adding filler slowed me down enough to heat soak and overheat...

I use gloves, don't really like getting shocked/burned/sunburned. Only time I go gloveless is when I am just doing a quick tack weld or something.

Flux ("gasless") wire only sucks if you don't know what you're doing. With the right technique and setup, you can make really good welds with flux wire. Plus it has better penetration than solid...

Oxy/Acetylene will work fine on exhaust, depending on your ability of course, It's done all the time even at dealerships (I know of one for sure)
Just practice on scrap before you ruin your nice new...

When he's talking about arc, I'm pretty sure he means SMAW (stick)
All electric welding is arc welding - mig, tig, stick, smaw, whatever
I know it's confusing, even mig isn't really mig if you use...

I want to make my own custom size aluminum radiator, is it possible? I can tig pretty good. Is there anywhere I can find cores to purchase? Again, is it even possible? Seems like it could be done but...

I have had great luck with the Craftsman bolt extractors, I can't see why one wouldn't work here. Or vice-grips, between the two I can loosen anything

I just use dino oil and manufacturer's recommendations. I keep it changed regularly and have had no problems, ever.

I did the 25$ ebay ram to K&N filter. Works good. Cleaning the k&n filter only takes 5-10 mins. Just make sure you clean out that ebay piping first.

Grounds, battery, get a multimeter and verify that the battery supplies 12vdc with car off and closer to 14vdc with it running.
