so one possibility is the EGR control solenoid is not hooked up (or not even there), right? i believe there are two vacuum lines running to it, plus wires to the ECU

I'm sure this thing is pissing you off but the ECU I sold you was fine, I don't rip people off. My guess is your JDM motor has no EGR valve and the ECU is looking for one and causing it to idle...

WTB: One 14" Civic wheel

I slid in the snow and bent a wheel on my '89 Prelude so any 14" rim from a Civic or Prelude (with or without tire) would be good.

(Cleveland area only)

I changed the plugs and wires and now it runs perfectly. The wires were corroded where they connected to the plugs (cheap autozone stuff), but it turns out I had a lifetime warranty on the wires so...

89 prelude stutters when floored

i have an 89 Si that (sometimes) stutters when i accelerate hard. It will cut out for a second and then be back to normal. Any ideas on why??

It is a 5 speed with 171,000 miles. I use 87 octane...
