Any "insert" you'd try to put into the springs will either crack/deteriorate and/or damage your ride quality considerably.

You got yourself a grade-a catch22.

Yea by pressurize I mean no air... I meant no pressure in the pedal... it just goes to the floor.

They don't exactly "spring" they're solid units... but that sounds plausible. I don't see any place for them to come from on the crank.
