Re: How many PSI in your full argon bottle?

Area1320, is correct. Its all based on weight. In the summer my bottles are around 2400 psi...in the winter months they are around 2000 psi. If your upset about less pressure, put a propane torch to...

Re: Square tube headers

Not bashing and Im all for someone making something their own and "unique", but theres no way that outflows a nice round tube header. Squares are old-school stuff...ask anyone involved in cylinder...

Re: Water cooler for torches

The water cooled torches are superior to air cooled torches in every way. They are half the size, half the weight, and 100 times more flexible! The pump itself is made by Procon. As mentioned, scour...

Re: Water cooler for torches

You guys are putting way too much into this concept. You dont need to cool the coolant. It wont freeze, so it will always flow. Whether its 0 outside or 110 outside...make your reservoir fairly good...

Re: Starting my own fab shop!

Markku,
I think Ive posted about it before, but you gotta take a day and build yourself a cooler and buy #20 size tig torch. I honestly dont know why more people dont do it. I have $300 into my...

Re: Need help picking a smaller tig torch.

You can make a cooler very easy. Look on eBay for a carbonator pump (off of a soda machine), and a 110V motor to power it(they use a special shaft setup). Then build a tank to hold the coolant. Go to...

Re: My new welding table!

All in all, everything looks great. Like Agtronic said, gas coverage and heat are right on the money. The consistency will come with practice. Most of the welds have alot of undercut, but welding...

Re: Cage builders, in here please!

I on the other hand HATE finger controls. Ive done the upside, down, backwards with the pedal between your legs. Or your leg bent back behind you, around another tube in the car, foot cramped up,...

Re: First Fab work...Manifold for my S2k

You NEVER want the header opening to be smaller than the head opening. The other way around isnt too bad, but with the header smaller, youll lose tons of flow, and it will cause some weird turbulence...

Re: Noob TIG welder. day 3 what do you think?

No color in SS means too much heat, or not enough gas coverage. Try this...strike an arc, dip your rod 2 or 3 times, then let off the pedal, but keep your tungsten right over the weld. You should get...

Re: pricing on cnc fab? (jbell)

Is it only one piece? If so, your best finding a small shop, or a guy who has access to a CNC that can do side work on it. Setup is EVERYTHING in the machining world.
