I tried starting the car again today and it started but then died straight away... tried it again and it idled perfectly fine for about 5 seconds then stopped. There was also a weird sound coming...

I'm looking at buying a 1997 Honda Civic Vti but when at the caryard the salesmen told me not to get a 1500cc model as the transmissions on them are rubbish and keep having problems! I dont know much...

When you replaced the plugs were they as dirty as a hooker? Check the replacement plugs and see if they're now dirty as well.
