upon further diagnosis of symptoms here is what i have found

anytime the car is in vaccume (i think thats what its called) for a few seconds it is jumpy to continue

example- in 5th gear turning...

i personally think its not heating up because of the fan. it does heat up to operating temp it just takes much longer without a therm it would hardly get to operating temp. so i think your right with...

yeah the only reason i crossed that off the list is because the oil is on both side of the motor. not just leaking onto the tranny.
