Re: Constant air conditioning problems

My issue doesn't seem to be heat related - when the a/c works it works great. Seems to be no reason when/why it decides to work or not. Where is the a/c pressure switch and connector and how do I...

Re: (awdwagon)

My situation is similiar but the rain doesn't matter. If the car warms up, the A/C loses cooling power. When you say your A/C "goes off", is the compressor still running? My compressor will...

Re: Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying. (VRDrvr)

Not knowing much is still more than I know... I do know that when car warms up I lose cold A/C - crack in radiator developed about a week before my A/C began acting up - EVERYTHING works great until...

Re: Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying. (Chiovnidca)

No - One slider for temp, one slider for vent selector, rotary dial for fan speed, recirc button and A/C on/off button.

Re: Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying. (Chiovnidca)

No - Do you mean heater control knob on the slider on the dash? How would that affect anything?

Re: Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying. (hondadude)

After thinking about it - I'm not sure where the heater core hose is! Since I'm lazy and don't want to pull out Chilton, can you tell me which one it is? Sorry but thanks.

Re: Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying. (Broman78)

I'm sure you've got a fine group - BUT at the risk of sounding like a wuss, NO WAY I'm going through Summer without A/C. I'm a 6thh generation Dallasite and we didn't crawl up the evolutionary chain...

Re: Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying. (hondadude)

Hey - I'm not sure of anything - I'll give it a try and see if that makes a difference - The A/C does seem to lose cooling once the car is fully warmed up. If car is cold, A/C seems to be cold...

Re: Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying. (bagged93accord)

I'm not sure how the radiator can fix the A/C - especially as it doesn't run hot and the fans are working fine - but it has to be done obviously anyway. We'll see - Thx

Warm A/C + Texas Summer = I'm Dying.

'90 Honda Accord - Ole' Reliable with 156K miles - When I let car sit overnight or for a few hours and then start I have nice cold A/C. This lasts for about 20 minutes or so and then I start losing...

Re: air conditioning (Chiovnidca)

Yep - clutch is engaging - center is rotating. I had someone sit in car and turn A/C on/off - clutch starts and stops. Here's another piece to this puzzle - a couple weeks ago I would notice that I...

Re: air conditioning (Chiovnidca)

Yea, I know the pulley rotates as long as engine rotates - So, how do I tell if Compressor is really working? And, it seems weird that it would work intermittently. It ALMOST seems to be...

Re: air conditioning (Chiovnidca)

Uhhh...I think so. A/C Guru I'm not. The pulley is turning and as I said, it's great for awhile - 15-20 minutes and then no more cold air. From what I know of compressors, it is either working or...

Re: air conditioning (89_LXi)

Okay, here's an interesting deal. Ole' Faithful ('90 Accord DX 5-sp, 155K miles) is haveing A/C problems. If the car sits for half a day or so, when I start the A/C it blows nice cold air. After...

Re: Accord Idle Surging (Mike813)

From what I understand - If engine is at operating temp - and coolant is flowing and warm - the valve should rise and seal hole obove plunger. With my car warm, coolant flowing - this valve should...

Re: Accord Idle Surging (AngryTroll)

Thanks for the help - Yesterday I took the cover off the Fast Idle Valve - Engine completely warmed up - I can see water in radiator - I wonder in the valve is leaking or not completely seating. ...

Accord Idle Surging

I've done searches and have not seen any real possible answers - Most surging seems to be connected a/c, cold engine etc...

Here's the deal - For about a month now, car would surge from 1k to 2k...
