no the crank is clean...
I've done small blocs before but never a 1.8

Sealant? You mean like rtv onhte outer edge tha touches the metal?

The oil pump has 65,000 on it.. stock LS block

Replacing front crank seal

I'm rebuilding a B18 for my civic and want to replace the front crank seal behind the crank timing pulley... what's the best way to get this out? the round seal.. do I need to remove the oil pump...

OK...
I went to put my head back onthe the B18 and the brand new from summit box of arp studs didnt have washers... is it supposed to have washers?

88 Civic and a hydro Tranny?

B18A swap.. into a 88 civic hatch...

I would like to get a newer tranny... possibly a GSR out of a newer acura...

1 - Will it bolt up to my B18A1
2 - What axles do I use?
3 - What hubs will...

When we break in V8's (chev 350 383 etc) we fire them up and take them to a 3000 rpm idle for 20-30 minutes...

then all is well.. change oil and your fine...

Why the high idle? so things cut...

Having head rebuild... Question

B18A1 Head.. only has 80,000 on it.. I'm going to have it checked and cleaned up... what should the (rough) high price be on a complete head rebuild, using standard oem parts... not including cams...

B18A Mechanical Questions...

OK.. 91 B18A1 I'm taking it all the way apart... New gaskets and all before i install it in my 88 hatchback...

On the cams... when i put them back in how do i line them up... TDC BDC etc...

Is a honda motor internally balanced or externally balanced?

If internally balanced, then there is no way it can hurt it... (well shouldnt hurt it)

If it is externally ballanced it will detroy...

is the MPFI swap have anything to do with going to OBD0..

i'm doing a B18 in my 88 dx hatch and am confused as to if the OBD0 and the mpfi swaps are related or not...

But how do i swap from pre OBD to OBD0 ? is the swap related to the dpfi to mpfi swap? of are...

Redoig gaskets and what not...

Brand you guy's prefer? Headgasket, etc...
