Disregard the haters. It's not a terribly complicated rebuild. I am not a fan of the OEM clutches with the large oil grooves (reduced friction area) or the OEM fluid. I have more than a year on mine...

Johnson Controls manufactures the batteries Wal-Mart sells under the Everstart brand. It is nearly impossible to find a better wet cell battery even at a much higher price point.

There should be a casting stamp in the cylinder head above the exhaust manifold that will tell you what year it is. Take a good picture and post it here.

Sorry, but it's not Honda's fault someone overtightened that plug and damaged the threads sometime in the past.

Depending on the valve seat spacing, there may indeed not be enough room to drill...

The oil goes from the pickup to the pump, then the filter, then into the galley after the filter. No oil makes it to the motor if it doesn't get past the filter.
