Re: tune problem or piston

did you have an wideband in the car? they broke at the week spot in the piston. Lots of things can contribute to this, that's why wide bands, imo are a must have. Do you enjoy doing high speed...

Re: Need Help Identifying a Turbo:

I would be really suprised if that turbo was on a 7.3L engine.

Re: Weird oil pressure , already searched.

That's a broad statement. I realize you know two people who have had issues with it, but there are tons of people who don't, me including. I've been running a oil cooler for years, never had an...

Re: Tial bov issue. Still getting compressor surge

Make sure the line is dedicated only to the BOV also, nothing t'd off the line, and don't tee off another line for the bov.

Re: Turbo install

Make sure your feed line doesn't rub you spark plug wires, that would make for a nice miss fire eventually. Also, is that a ball bearing turbo??

Re: ID 2000'S BLOW MY MOTOR UP!!!!!!!

I think some people could relax up on the OP, he just lost an engine, and got some misinformation, i'm sure he isn't thrilled right now. I agree it's not injectors for the simple fact that you...

Re: ignorant mechanic ????

There's all kinds of opinions on this. What was the big deal on only getting your bad sleeve done? Are you suppose to do them all at once. Also, i'm sorry but telling your mechanic your on a...

Re: Any first hand experience with Canton Road Race Oil Pans?

I have the canton 5 quart for the d-series. I have no complaints with mine, little tight for stock gaskets where the end seals are. The pan is for a zc motor though, i believe, and i have never...

Re: The "fabled" hf manifold for DIY turbo kits...questions

I ran a .48/.60 turbo on one, for a little over a year at 15psi. Ran a best of 13.003 at 109 mph, did 5 track days, and never had an issue. The biggest problem i had, was a drain line, it made the...

Re: d16y8 turbo

The biggest problem with running those manifolds, is how low the turbo hangs. I would run a 45 off the turbo, giving the line a better chance at draining. Also, you may want to run a breather...

Re: got a few questions, not sure its this is normal or not!

Make sure your lines are hooked up right with the MBC, that can cause issues with boost creep, fluttering. Also, hook up the bov to it's own line off the intake manifold, and see if that helps.

Re: 2000 Honda SI: Which OEM springs are for the front?

I would say you went backwards. To me, it looks like the ones on the right are a tighter wound, which would be a stiffer spring, which i would put up front. Also, here is an ebay pick, which again...

Re: Reliable turbo kit Help

chipped and properly tuned ecu. You can do it youself, but i would just have it done, unless your going to buy a wideband.

Re: just rebuilt motor. not sure about break-in

You should get a basemap done, and then take it to the tuner. I just did this, and went with the boost. There's all kinds of theories. The main thing you should be concerned with though, is a...

Re: Godawful Idle with DSM 450's

CEL? Make sure the chip is in the computer the right way, and fully seated. How did you do the dsm's? When i installed mine, you had to use an ohm meter and check continuity.

Re: Ehaust manifold bolts are breaking

not fixing them, you risk stripping them all out, if you already haven't. I would be more concerned with figuring out why your ripping them out, rather then a good upgrade. I use stock 10+ year old...

Re: oil in turbo question.

No, for the most part turbos don't have acutal seals on the exhuast. Not sure on ball bearings? Anyways, it uses air pressure differences to keep the oil going inside and not into your exhuast.

Re: Video: Ultimate Track Car Challenge at VIR

I thought the video was good, you have a lot of good ideas. I think you could use a good tripod, get a fluid motion style head, that would help with your pans. Also, i think you could do without...
