I have a 99 Civic HX w/ 274k miles that on the drivers side it makes a metal on metal sound when you hit a bump or sometimes press lightly on the brake pedal and doesn't always do this. I currently...

Re: 99 Civic HX no start, scanner won't connect

Thought I'd give an update, the new switch didn't change anything and is a huge pain in the rear... the switch itself was easy but one of the connectors Honda decided to add 2 extra wires that you...

99 Civic HX no start, scanner won't connect

I have a 99 Civic HX that won't start, it cranks over fine but the fuel pump is silent when you turn the key to the run position. I have checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood. I...

Re: where locate parts

I have done that too with my local dealer. I was replacing the rear brakes and struts but broke a bolt off in the lower control arm, the outer bolt siezed in the bushing so it snapped off. I went to...

Re: where locate parts

They're prices are generally the lowest around from what I've seen however they will rape you on the s&h fees. I found a dealership in TX that is very close to majestic's pricing but the shipping is...

Re: Average life for battery?!?!?

I'm only on the 3rd battery including the original that came in my 97 civic, I first replaced it in 2002 and the last time was in 2010 both with honda batteries from the dealer. When the time comes I...

Re: 99 Civic Exhaust Manifold / Catalytic Converter Recall?

Again I will state that only certain 96-97 models were included in the recall. I have never heard of anything newer being part of it, I've heard of 98's having the same problems but honda did not...

Re: 99 Civic Exhaust Manifold / Catalytic Converter Recall?

The warranty was good for only certain 96-97 models, can't remember it was either 10 or 14 years but the mileage had to be under 150k. My 97 hx was covered at the time and I received free oil change...

Re: Found what looks like a piece of belt under my hood(pics)

I would just buy a new tensioner kit and also replace the belt. If the belt was that bad they should've told you about it but I'd say they just tightened it up way too much so the belt just let go.

Re: Will a 49 state cat cause a CEL on a cali emission car?

Majestic's website doesn't list a california version of the lx civic. I just got done replacing the one on my hx which is a cali spec car but both 49 and cali use the same exhaust manifold/converter...

Re: Engine swap legality

Yes you guys nailed it here in VA, NOVA does have emissions testing but I'm almost positive they don't in all the other parts. For the most part as long as you have good tires and brakes with...

Re: 260K on orignial motor

Two years ago I paid $2600 for a 99 hx w/ 209k miles. When I bought the car the a/c compressor made noise like bolts and nuts rattling around in a can so I knew it would have to be replaced at some...

Re: Always Use Genuine Honda Parts

I just got done installing an aftermarket alternator on my 97 hx and the housing is a tiny bit larger than the oem one which caused some fitment issues.

The first snag that I ran into was because...

Re: Damn P0420 code!!!

I feel ya mine is giving me the same code but on an hx. You're just going to have to suck it up and go oem from what I've read about the quality of the platinum in the aftermarket cat's. In mine I...

Re: Stupid to buy 1996 Civiv EX with 240K? $3K

Personally I would say $2k it will give you more room when other things come up and go bad. I paid $2600 for 99 hx w/ 209k from a dealer but it had a clean title and it's never been in an accident...

Re: Civic HX problem-unburnt fuel?

Yes you'll need to remove the kickpanel but there will be a label directly on the ecu itself and should say 37820-p2n-a22, If it says A21 then I would start there first by replacing that.

The A22...

Re: Civic HX problem-unburnt fuel?

We're going back two years but this is what I stated as shown on the first page. Do you have the A21 or A22 ecu? I would start there and look to see what you have.

Re: vin location on d16y7

Re: 97 y5 swapped 99 y8 upper o2 sensor help (Please take a look)

One issue is that the 99-00 civics are obd2b and the hx model was obd2a from 96-00 it would be better to find a 96-98 y8 ecu to use with your existing configuration. The easiest would be to just get...
