Re: do i need a knock sensor? EG K20 turbo

Shouldn't NEED one. I'm sure Jeff Evans knows how to read plugs.

Most factory Honda ones are too slow anyways.

Re: Turbo kit fitment issues pls help

Is that Borg unit used specifically for this kit, or is it something you added/purchased aside from the rest?

Almost every "street" kit Greg makes is made for a smaller Turbonetics unit, since he...

Re: 4gen's New 2.0L build - New dyno results

Oh, I am well aware of the technical side-effects "associated" with top-mounts. It's the people that preach till they are blue in the face that top-mounts should only be used if you are shooting for...

Re: 4gen's New 2.0L build - New dyno results

No gears had to be swapped with others (technically speaking). The LS trans has a 4.4FD from factory.

Swapping in the 4.7FD changes the gear ratios of 1-2nd to be quicker than an ITR trans in...

Re: 4gen's New 2.0L build - New dyno results

The LS trans was a combo I put together for a drag setup.

Gives you a very quick 1st/2nd gear to get out of the hole, then 3rd-4th is identical to a GSR trans for good trap speed.

I ended up...

Re: 4gen's New 2.0L build - New dyno results

Thanks. I still don't understand the misconception with top-mounts, yes they are typically good for top-end power and you're right, midrange is everything for a street car. I've noticed over the...

Re: 4gen's New 2.0L build - New dyno results

Never had any issues with it. Hook up a gauge to monitor your base fuel pressure.

AEM still makes very good products and still feel very comfortable, to this day, to run them.

4gen's New 2.0L build - New dyno results

Hey everyone,

The date finally came for dyno tuning, over the weekend, for my newest and LAST engine going into my EJ1 street car.

Setup details:

- 85 x 87mm GSR B18c

Re: Manley Turbo Tuff rod bolt torque

Thanks, for some reason I looked over that PDF, but I must have overlooked it since the spec started with Small-block Chev.

I hear you, I am typically not one to skip steps like this. Although...

Re: Manley Turbo Tuff rod bolt torque

I realize that is the proper way. I don't have access to proper rod bolt gauge. Which is why I just need the torque spec. I am not pushing enough power for the torque to be exactly .006" stretch...

Manley Turbo Tuff rod bolt torque

Forgive me, my age is getting the better of me here. Remembering torque spec's for aftermarket parts is an endless struggle. LOL!

Just about to assemble my engine. I bought a used engine with the...

Re: 800-1000hp guys. chime in please.

Speedfactory runs the JE Pro-seal headgaskets. Both the Outlaw and the SFWD cars are over 1000whp. After talking with Kevin (one of the engine builders) they have had success with them as they have a...

Re: where the ej1 love at? post pics

Thanks,

RPF1's will look odd with different widths/offsets the spoke design won't look the same. If you are worried about tire contact, either roll your fenders and get the 16X8's or go with a...

I torque mine to spec and...

Re: Effects of elevation on dynamic compression discussion

Gotcha. Theoretically I should be aprx. 10:1 dynamic running these 10.8:1 static pistons, which is perfect.

Thanks

Re: Effects of elevation on dynamic compression discussion

I am sure weather changes (air density) have effects on this aswell, which is near impossible to calculate unless it is done every day/every hour.

So, if that theory is correct, and the boost...

Re: where the ej1 love at? post pics
