Re: (HiProfile)

I think it should be pointed out that when cruising under part throttle, max VE is not achieved; the whole point of throttling is to reduce power output (ie, reduce cylinder filling, so talk of max...

Re: (rorik)

Why is everyone discussing max VE when the topic is about partial throttle/max mpg?

I would think max VE would only be interesting when talking about peak power output.

Re: obd2 to obd1 convesion problem. need help plz (d0hhh12)

Does the problem clear up after it is warmed up? This sounds like your IAC. The IAC is different on obd2 and obd1 cars, and an obd1 ecu would not "know" how to control an obd2 IAC, and vice versa....

Re: (tweekerz)

The datalogging port is the white connector in the second picture. You will need a converter to convert it into a signal that can be "read" by your datalogger computer serial or usb port.

Re: (1.8L_allmotormilitia)

Where is the hondata? All I see is a chipped p28 ecu, with a datalogging port. The hondata is a daughterboard that plugs into the ecu motherboard.

Re: going from GSR tranny to type R.. how much gas am i actually losing? (skunk2 VTECH)

I think everyone here has over analyzed this situation. The simple fact of the matter is that the more throttle a gasoline engine is operated under, the more fuel it is going to consume, per amount...

Re: tach jumping? (emooheo)

This is a common problem with integras. Check your grounds for the ecu, and also check the insulation on the wires coming from distributor.

Re: Rough Idle At Start-up during cold..... (digital sol)

Your fuel compensation parameters for cold start are too lean. If you can tune your hondata, you should try adding a tiny bit of fuel to the ect fuel correction factor around the temperature which...

Re: Pistons: side loading and stroke- skirt size vs. weight? (hemlockz)

Moving the wrist pin up does not act like a longer rod. It allows you to run a longer rod.

I think the rod ratio, and the desired wear/weight savings, and how close the piston comes to the crank...

Re: idle drainage with battery drainage ????? (simplsi)

I don't think your problem is an electrical one. It is purely a matter of your engine not putting out enough hp at idle to turn the alternator as the electrical load increases. As you probably know,...

Re: Swirl Effect Creation> I want the Big Dogs to chime in! (EG-B20vtec)

If you want to understand the effects of more swirl, you should look into lean burn engines. For example, the primary lobes of the intake cam in the civic vx are different sizes. This is done so that...

Re: obd0/obd1 ecu socketing/chipping guys (xDEFTONESx)

Do they have a little window where you can see the chip? If so, you will need a uv chip eraser. If not, they are OTP (one time programmable) chips.

Re: Run ability issue…. (spriggan)

The hesitating and backfiring are classic symptoms of an engine that is lean misfiring. Your tuner probably has your part throttle settings tuned very lean, which is good for fuel economy, but if it...

Re: ecu you problems!!!! (wytechoppin)

If you are going to get an IM then don't bother adding the IAB function. You can also then use the p30 codebase, which has more options than the p72 code, like better load based vtec engagement. If...

Re: ecu you problems!!!! (wytechoppin)

Your modded p06 probably doesn't have the necessary electronics to activate the IAB. You will need that as well as the p72 code to activate the IAB.

Re: (MeekalLS)

Your problem is that you are using 91 octane. Use the 87, and your mpg will go up.
