Re: Honda slow to warm up even with new thermostat (Muckman)

Aftermarket thermostats are simply not as good as the Honda OEM thermostats. I verified this several times by purchasing aftermarket and later discarding them.

A Honda 195F thermostat will warm...

Re: abs troubles (papa_smurf)

I'm not familiar w/ RL, but on other Honda products of this vintage, you simply jump the Service Check Connector (under the glove box, blue connector w/ dummy plug support). Turn key to ON, and ABS...

Re: 94 Accord EX shifts harshly (USP)

The Honda shop manual lists misadjusted throttle position cable as a likely cause for hard shifts. Since this would have been re-installed after your transmission replacement, you should insist that...

Re: replacing 92 Antenna Mast ?? (zumiez007)

I had this problem and wound up having to pull the antenna assembly apart and remove the broken stub which was causing problems. It's major surgery to disassemble the antenna drive assembly and you...

Re: clicking sound from fan (devilpuppy)

The blower fan brushes wear w/ age and when they get worn near failure they are loose and tend to click more when fan runs. In final death throes, the motor won't start and you can thump the housing...

Re: cooling fan- most common part that fails? (flyinga)

Cooling fan problems are usually the fan itself (worn motor brushes), or faulty thermswitch which causes the fan to engage. I've had both problems on high mileage 90 EX.

good luck

Re: My '99 Accord has a tempermental start. Please help. (ericjackson)

From your description, I would suspect a fuel pressure problem. It would help to rig a fuel pressure gauge "semi-permanent". Run the pressure line from under the hood to windshield and tape the fuel...

Re: How to check fuel pump circuit 1990 Accord ex (goodguy34)

The main fuel relay is difficult to find. It's under the dash, high and against the outside of the vehicle on driver's side. If car has speed control, remove the three bolts holding the speed control...

Re: soup can with nuts and bolts in it??? (EG-Si hatch)

Check ball jts and tie-rod jts for looseness. Check anti-sway bar bushings, particularly where they tie to the lower arm for wear. They will cause noise, particularly when you hit a bump while...

Re: Heater Core Question (ZedExTT)

W/ engine warm and temperature setting on full warm feel both inlet and outlet hoses to the heater core. If both are hot, your problem is a blend door that is not letting any air flow over the heater...

Re: Timing belt halfway off (Aquafina)

You'll need to remove the timing belt lower cover, loosen the timing belt adjusting bolt, and release the tension. Then you can remove the belt from the sprocket.

If you don't have at least a...

Re: 2002 Accord- ABS light accompanied by noise (wrxvt)

Disc brakes will sometimes squeak/squeal despite best efforts. You can remove and make sure anti-squeal shims are in place w/ anti-squeal goo on the shims.

I can't help w/ the ABS code since my...

Re: P0122 code on 2000 accord (tzimme1)

Low input probably means the voltage presented to the ECU is below expected value. A faulty TPS or wiring problem (short) or poor connector contacts could cause this. Check wiring and clean connector...

Re: the bouncing tach (lvrudedude)

Ignitor, ignition coil, bad wires, distributor cap crack, rotor crack, even spark plugs can cause these symptoms. Start w/ plugs, and work up in cost. Honda wires are very good and rarely cause...

Re: 94 Honda Accord Passing gear sticking around 5000rpms (accord0494)

After looking at the shift chart in my 94 Accord manual, my interpretation is that it should stay in 3rd after a kickdown to full throttle until perhaps 140 kph (86 mph). In other words it could be...

Re: 2002 Accord- ABS light accompanied by noise (wrxvt)

Squeaky noise is likely the "scratcher" on the brake pad indicating the pad wear limit has been reached. Better get new pads before you damage the rotors, very expensive to replace.

I doubt the...

Re: Top 10 ten things to check if your Accord won't start ?? (89dxhunchback)

Check distributor cap and rotor for cracks. Check ignition coil resistance against specification w/ a good Volt-Ohm meter. If all those check out, pull the ignitor and have it checked. If you're not...

Re: Possibly a bad strut (SIMATIC)

Ride slowly over a sudden drop of 1-2 inches. If the strut slams down when the wheel rides over the drop, the strut is shot. If you get smooth response, the strut is fine.

Noise could be worn...
