The guys who run auxiliary vac. pumps in NHRA Pro Stock, use an electric pump setup so they arent taking any HP away from the motor. Some just utilize the dry sump oil pump to double as a vacuum...

Star Machine makes a really small vacuum pump that Im sure you could adapt to help evacuate the crankcase. As long as the motor is well sealed, they work great...but if you got a leaky gasket...
