Re: What Have you done to your Prelude today?

Finally completed the auto to manual swap. Well I guess it is about 95% complete. Still working out some bugs. But all in all it went pretty well. I used the 4th gen shifter as you can see, it went...

Re: What do you guys think? (dc4 trade)

Mileage and condition make a huge difference. And as previously stated, it's a Civic. Not that that's a bad thing, hell most people on HT have probably had a Civic at one time, but personally I think...

Re: does the 5th gen. prelude

140,000 on the odo and no rust whatsoever. I live in Missouri where it is very humid in the summers.

Re: need some info about 99 prelude auto (russlan44)

Hey Russlan, do you know if there is any way to check if your recalled parts on your vehicle have been replaced? I drive a 98 myself and have only owned it about 6 months.

Re: How reliable would a '97 Prelude with 150k miles be? (vlang29)

My 98 auto has 138k on the clock and she runs like a champ. I don't beat on her, but she sees her fair share of VTEC. It threw a mis-fire code once so I replaced the spark plugs and that was that.

Re: (BB1LOViN)

I think I know what noise you are talking about. My H22 makes a similar noise when it is cold and at low rpm. I am due for a valve adustment and I will see if that clears up my problem.

Re: $4 a gallon thread bump (integra15)

98 Prelude stock auto 130k I get 25-27 consistently. I hit VTEC quite often too. That is highway of course. I get about 20-24 in the city.

Re: 87 Octane in the 5th gen? (Inextricabledrvr)

I run 91, but I would run higher if I knew where to find it around here. I ran 87 once when I first got my Prelude running and will never do it again. On 91 I get about 26.5 mpg consistently.

Re: (blanktape)

I'm sure what the guy is referring to is the damper. You can replace it or just remove it completely which a lot of people have done. If you do remove it, you will have to custom rig a clutch line...

Re: In the market for a 5th Gen Finally!!! (LukieLuc)

My 98 base model just clocked 137k and it runs like a champ. I need to adjust the valves but other than that it's great. Is it an auto or a stick?

Re: (RyanStevenPhillips)

Here in Kansas they run an initial VIN inspection along with checking the numbers on the engine, but that is when you register your car for the first time. They do that in place of a safety...
