Re: Long Trip with 91 Si - Any Concern?

I keep up on all regular maintenance on my 89 si. Before long road trips I change the oil, check coolant level, check tire pressure, maybe even rotate tires. That's about it. I usually pack a...

Re: Si trans vs HF trans on 91 EF's for best MPG questions

I have an 89 si all stock, been wondering about this exact situation. At 3000rpm I'm barely doing 60mph. I feel bad revving the engine any more than that for long periods of time, haha. I'd be...

re: 91 civic hatchback 1.5 engine - cranks won't start

Remove fuel hose anywhere in engine bay (at fuel filter, fuel rail, etc) and put end of hose in a clear container. Turn ignition key to ON but don't try starting it. Fuel should rush into the...

Re: Lost keys

1. Remove passenger side door handle.
2. Remove lock cylinder from handle.
3. Take cylinder in to a locksmith and have a key made for $15.
4. You can now remove the ignition cylinder, and you...

Or just throw in another known good relay to test. I keep a jug full of relays from junkyards and parted cars. If you do a lot of automotive wiring,...

Re: Push to start button linked to starting problem?

If you're getting a "click" when you push the button, that would lead me to believe that the button itself is doing its job. However, if a relay is supposed to be supplying the real power, then I...

Re: Push to start button linked to starting problem?

Don't trust new parts because they're "new". I once bought a "new" alternator for my Si, only to have it put out 0 volts. Not before I replaced the main relay, checked continuity of wires, and went...

Re: THE LUNCHBOX!

Wait, are you guys using stainless wire? You should be using some sort of stainless wire in that welder. The welds might hold for a while with regular wire, but be aware they will eventually...

Re: THE LUNCHBOX!

You should be TIG welding that stainless pipe with a backflow of argon inside. I'm not saying you can't MIG it, but most guys TIG to make it easier/nicer looking. And get a mask for Christ's sake,...

Re: Does anyone know if these upper control arms are any good

I ran the adjustable SPC ball joints back in 2004. They might have changed the design since then, but at full camber correction it would hit the unibody structure that the fender bolts to.

Re: Does anyone know if these upper control arms are any good

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't feel comfortable having 2 allen bolts holding my entire a-arm together. I also wouldn't feel comfortable paying $500 a set.

Re: civic 91 broken timing belt

Headbolts stretch, giving you an inaccurate torque reading if you reuse them. ARP head studs can be reused, although I'm not sure how many times. If the car had less than 50,000 miles, you might be...

Re: civic 91 broken timing belt

You're possibly creating another problem for yourself, which you definitely don't want at this point. Even if you have to rent a hone tool and buy a used drill, that's still cheaper and faster than...

Re: Check Engine light not on, but reading

This is what I was trying to determine. Your check engine light was on the whole time, but the bulb was either burned out or missing.

Does the check engine light come on when you cycle the key?
