Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

Massa is at the top of my list, but anybody but Vettel would be welcome! I'm even going to root for Alonso if I have to. :P

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

Massa has not had a great track record at Alberta Park, but if he's this close to Alonso in Australia then just wait until the counterclockwise circuits (Turkey, COTA, Brazil, etc)

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

My awesome wife got us tickets for last years USGP. I thought the tickets would be the most expensive part of the trip at $600/person for the 3 day pass. I was very wrong.

Airfare $700/person...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

So I am like 2 days behind in this thread. Just went through 3 or 4 pages of it and I think I only saw 3 posts talking about F1. LOL, should be titled "Bauley and falcon's funhouse!"

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

Did the Ferrari wreck? Or do you just like looking at their mechanics' asses?

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

It sounds like FA was doing qualy runs all morning, testing the dropoff of the tyres and the pure speed of the car. The afternoon was longer runs.

Tomorrow they are expecting rain, so I doubt we...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

That list of F1 drivers didn't really impress in F1...besides JPM who has done fairly well in NASCAR.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

I wish it wasn't a 14 hour drive, or $400 plane ticket, or I'd join the team!

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

Haha. That was also when Honda spent a billion dollars on a car and Brawn bought it for a dollar.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

You really can't judge the first test session of the year. You have no idea what their fuel loads, tires, or aero packages were. Not that Merc stands a chance against McLaren, but I don't think...

Re: Bruce McLaren

It's crazy how his company was only 7 or 8 years old at the time of his death, yet it has been carried on to become one of the elite racing teams in the world. Not to mention, it made arguably the...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

Just did a quick google search and couldn't find anything. Although, it looks like RBR was interested in Infiniti because they have developed a new paint technology called Paint Scratch Reheeling. ...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

I would imagine it's well above $50M if not $100M. RBR probably has an annual budget of $300-400M, with roughly $100M coming from prize money each year. In order for Infiniti to win the title...

I guess I'm not the only one who could surmise that. My wife cancelled our cable last year, I only got it back for the last 3 races of the year. :hammer:

Re: The Official Formula 1 2013 Season Thread

LOL @ ice cream

It's definitely not for driver cooling. It's got to be aerodynamic or stability like you said.
