yes and no, my miata received it's salvage title from a sliced top, jacked HU and a few missing interior pieces(from previous owner).

Sometime it's easier to get a check from the insurance then...

don't forget to bleed the air pocket out of the cooling system, there should be TWO bleeder valves(one near the block and one by the firewall with a rubber cap), refill coolant if needed.

skip the z4 unless it's a m version, it's a fine cruiser but honestly not even in the same segment as s2000/mr2 in term of performance.

off the shelf the S2000 would be more fun to drive but...

it's very doable, i would look at something fast spooling instead of a huge snail that doesn't get moving til 6-7k, call up your local tuner.

of course you can drift something cheaper/easier, but...
