Did you vacuum out the lines when you drained the freon? That might be it.

Outer tie rod end

When installing an outer tie rod end, is it supposed to snap into the steering knuckle? Or will it just get bolted down and I don't get to hear anything?

Yes, that's where it's located. If your a/c is only cool and not cold and you don't have access to a gauge set, keep adding it until you can feel your a/c get colder than hell.

Well I get about 30 mpg in my 94 rs. You might want to do a tune-up and check your tire pressure.

Could be your expansion valve or evaporator core.

When my expansion valve went out the car would get cold for a cycle then it'd blow warm air.

How much freon did you put in there? You might want to check the pressure, you need about 30 lbs of pressure I believe. Any more or less and the freon won't expand properly.
