Re: FS: 1993 Honda Civic Si (puffallattastuff)

Aside from the clutch/CV maintenance, any idea when (or if) other maintenance was done? Have the timing belt and water pump been replaced? Does the A/C work? Does anything leak (engine oil,...

Re: FS: 1993 Honda Civic Si (puffallattastuff)

Looks like ride height is too low for a completely stock Si. Any idea what the shocks and/or springs are?

Also, given that some suspension parts are not stock, are there other non-stock parts on...

Re: clutch shudder (SuzukaBlueAP2)

Does it happen while you're releasing the clutch or while you're driving along pressing the accelerator? I've heard of clutch shudder happening to other cars (mainly Miatas), and those problems seem...

Re: (hypnosisracing)

Buy a GTI? Why, because you did? Keep in mind that a stock Fit is around 600 lbs. lighter than your '04 GTI. Yes, the Fit's L15 doesn't make a lot of power, but its torque curve really isn't too...

Re: honda Fit Insurance cost. (hondaless)

I had a 2003 WRX before I bought the Fit. The monthly cost for full coverage on the WRX was around $120. The same coverage on the Fit is $57. It definitely helps to be over 25... you should see a...

Re: (Power Rev Racing)

It will be interesting to see if there's any power gain from this.

As most people here probably know, the upper half of the intake manifold on the L15 is plastic. I'm guessing it doesn't transfer...

Re: Highway Road Noise? (dpao6)

I didn't think it was bad at all, and after owning a Fit for approximately nine months, I still don't. I think it probably depends on previous experiences. I owned a WRX with stiffer than stock...

Re: Burning engine oil and no leaks!! (edrhee83)

Pull off the intake and look inside the throttle body. If your intake is pulling in that much oil, the inside of the throttle body and the throttle plate should be covered with oil. If they're not,...

Re: (d16dcoe45)

Rev matching and double clutching are not "essentially the same". They serve different purposes, and their effects are different. Your description of double clutching is correct, but I'm not sure...

Re: Test drove a Fit today. Dont know if I can get used to the low power. Any input. (Yellow Dragon)

Oddly enough, I sold a fairly heavily modified WRX and bought my Fit. Yes, the Fit isn't as fast as the WRX was, but the WRX wasn't as fast as some cars also. It's all relative. There are always...

Re: Is Honda using better oil in their new cars???? (H22A_EJ2)

I think the first oil fill might be different from normal Honda oil you'd buy from the parts counter. According to the Fit's manual, you should not do the first oil change before the oil life...

Re: b16a in fit (slowww_DCfour)

Anything is possible, but it would be problematic.

First, any B16 will be older than the car, so you'd likely have problems with inspections or smog checks in some states (like CA).

Also, the...

Re: Anyone else having problems with their Fit 5-speed tranny? (strikerflo)

Pushing the shifter while the car is in gear is probably a bad idea. You could likely wear out bearings in the transmission more quickly.

It sounds like the problem is related to the linkage...

Re: Burnt Smell? (dELfONiK)

Probably normal, but you could check the engine oil and transmission fluid levels (or ask the dealer to do it).

Also, it's not very likely, but you could play with the parking brake to verify...
