Re: New trailer (SMSP)

A properly sized truck and a weight distributing sway control set-up go a long way toward towing stability.

My GMC 2500HD Crew Cab, with a 9200lb GVW, 153" wheelbase, and Reese Dual-Cam hitch/sway...

Re: Another Early Friday OT (fsp31)

Now, y'all don't laugh here....this one's a major confession:

Partridge Family 8-track, circa 1973. I was about 10 years old or so. And Shirley Jones was so cool as a TV mom.....

Two years...

Re: john thomas 86 honda civic, tom lombardo solo2 national champ (MattP)

Trying to keep this sort of on track, Lombardo's pump I believe is off a 90's vintage Accord, with some type of custom mount low on the block where the A/C compressor originally went on that motor. ...

Re: Enclosed Trailer Question (solorexer)

Bigger trucks have less of a mileage dent....

'04 GMC 2500HD 4x4 Crew Cab, 6.0 gas. 4L80E and 4.10's.

Went from high 10's with the 4500-5000lb open set-up to low 9's with the enclosed at close...

Re: (Back in Black)

Well, I have a 8.5 x 20, and while a 24' would be nice, I bought the 20' on purpose due to parking issues, and the manuveurability needs in order to get it where it needs to go up the 100' long...

Re: (solo-x)

Commentary and I'll try not to hi-jack.....

Around here in the Gotham land of plenty, $679 will barely get you an oil change. I haven't ever heard of shop labor of $30-45 ever, well, maybe I...

Re: Nate Whipple, Chris Travis, or Keith Casey... Please help (jsi)

This thread was kind of incentive to get me to start playing travel agent.

The wifey sez we stay at the Spring Hill Suites on the base. Problem is, they are wise to some 'special event', whether...

Re: Tow Vehicles (preparedcivic)

Oh, one more thing, that 5R100 tranny, is really just an update with improved electronic controls and bits and pieces over the 4R100. They get the additional gear by engaging the overdrive on first...

Re: Tow Vehicles (MaddMatt)

Jumping in way late on the thread, but I wrestled with the gas or diesel dilemna when I bought the 2500HD in July '04. The height of the diesel bling period, and I even had trouble finding new...

Re: Honda wheel bearings (Aahj)

Wheel bearings going bad must be a recent phenomena.

'86 Civic Si #1 that I had part ownership of went to about 320k, and the bearings were about the only thing in the car that didn't get...

Re: towing speeds (prkiller)

The answer is, it depends what I was using as a tow vehicle.

My 1st one, an '88 Ranger just using a dead weight hitch for the open trailer, was downright wonky at much over 65. Once I upgraded to...

Re: 06 Si SCCA Solo2 Classing??? (CivicSiRacer)

First, lets clear up a common misconception. What the SAC recommends and the SEB rules upon can be two very different things. Been there on both, and experienced both ends of the stick as well.

Re: OT: How to Make the Best of Seeing Pride & Prejudice with your Wife or G.F. (chjkingme)

Back in my day, a popular game to play at 11:30pm weeknights was "Hi Bob". Old Bob Newhard Show reruns. Take a chug everytime someone said Hi Bob on the show.
