Re: EK automatic has been sitting for 2 years... want to start it up

Thanks yall. I gave it a try, but it wouldn't turn over. I loosened the out-going banjo bolt on the fuel filter and it didn't give me the impression there was much pressure in the system. So what can...

Icon5 EK automatic has been sitting for 2 years... want to start it up

My 2000 Civic has been in a garage for a couple of years and I want to start it up again.

So far I have drained all the fuel out and put a tsp of Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder. If it was a...

Re: All Motor * SOHC * Chime In !

Y7 with 'vetec'?

Try using the comma or return key to separate long jumbled lists of parts so people can read what you are listing.

Re: Lets Talk Motor Oil – It is So Very Misunderstood

From my forays into the BMW world, I have learned that M1 0w40 is NOT just another weight of M1... it is a very different oil altogether. Good stuff... wish my local wallyworld carried the big jugs...

How old is the thermo? They usually fail stuck open, but it could be stuck shut.

Look around your engine for blue stains, there might be a hairline crack in your radiator (especially on the top)...

Re: brake pad help for track days....brake upgrade on a civic

Thanks known. The specs on the HT10 look more street friendly than GTS's with the milder initial bite. That might work a little better since I have no ABS and I only top out at ~90 in only one spot...

Re: brake pad help for track days....brake upgrade on a civic

I'm currently enjoying the heck out of the last set of Cobalt GTS's ever made for the stock CRX 9.5" discs, on NT-01's at HPDE's.

Between the DTC 60's and the HT-10's which is the more "agressive"...

Re: Best 15x7 Rim for Autocross (EM1)

The article also compared them on a relatively powerful RWD car, and an older RWD miata.

I think the story will be different on a lower-power FWD car.

The lower the HP, the more significant...

Re: All Motor * SOHC * Chime In !

From what I've read and seen the Z6 is great for the A6 cam, but a more aggressive cam might do better with the Y8 to get the most out of higher revs.

I have a Z6 IM on my DIY-ported A6 head... it...

Re: Stock 1989 SI trying to get Vtec with D16y8

Most cost effective?

Find a chipped 90-91 PM6 ECU, have a chip burned with a vtec switch on the AC signal line at any RPM you choose, plus you can raise the rev limit to 7800 while you're in...

Advise me on mixed-size NT01's on a CRX

My track time consists of 5 or more HPDE's or Time Trials a year, plus a few autox's for fun. I'm considering a mixed setup of the following on my CRX:

225/45/15 NT01's in front on 15x7+41 RPF1s...

Re: Harsh riding CRX on Sportlines/Koni: Other options?

Those springs are only marginally stiffer than the stock ones compared to most. Adjust the koni's softer until they feel better... if you get them too soft the car will bounce. The poly bushings are...

Re: D16a6 in to non-si '90 Civic hatch.

Re: Head gasket kit, or do I need all that?

If all the grounds are good and the dist. plugs are in the right holes, check your timing belt again. Its hard to get it right the first time.

Also, when setting the tensioner, contrary to what...

Re: My CR-X track car (non vtec) how to make it faster

I think you are also leaving some time on the track by trying to "autocross" the corner exits so tightly.

And 205's are much too small for that much power. :)

Re: All Motor * SOHC * Chime In !

Very cool creative build! Nice torque and I bet it gets decent mileage too.

Did you have to do something special to make the d17 parts fit?
