I learned to TIG, and still do the majority of my welding on a slightly newer idealarc 300. Personally I almost prefer working on it over other machines I have access to, a snychrowave 250...

I also use and like my Dewalt DW402 (I'd wish I'd have known that the B&D was the same model bfore I bought it).

I used to buy those cheap $10 grinders from Harbor Freight, but I went through them...

I've been exposed to an arc without my hood many time but have luckily nevre had any really irritating flash burn.

My problem is a more persistant lack of focus and very faint flashes for hours...

you can easily do the same with mig.

just point your nozzle at, and keep you puddle on the larger peice.
