Re: Torco MTF vs HG MTF

Umm... sure it can. You ever tracked your car? If you are loosing 20hp through the transmission, where do you think that energy is going? I have pulled off the track with a transmission hot enough...

Re: Torco MTF vs HG MTF

Thanks for posting. Would you suggest Torco RTF for roadrace K-series transmissions also? What about oil type for gear LSDs like the quaife or some of the OEM hondas? If you actually want friction...

Re: timing belt walking off cam gears???? help

I agree. With the manual tensioner there is one long stud for both bearings, and with the auto tensioner (or similar) there is a long funny shaped bolt that goes into the water pump. Replace or...

Re: *picture* Crack in transmission

I agree, it looks like something hit it from the inside. I'd open it up and look for a loose bolt or some object floating around in there. If it was a loose bolt, it may be stuck to the magnet on...

Re: alternator problem plz HELP!!!!

So does the voltage come up if you rev the engine above idle? If the alternator is generating electricity, but can't charge at idle, then it sounds like you have something pulling a lot of current...

Re: IAluder95s Build thread H23vtec Turbo

Thanks for the update and glad to see you're sticking with it. Good luck! I think rosko has a distributorless system that uses K-series coil packs. That might be a good way to go if you need new...

Re: Need advise Balance Shaft Belt or Not

It sounds like you already know the trade-off. If you take the belt off you get a small amount of power and some extra vibration. Either way, do the manual tensioner on the timing belt though.

Re: Anyone know a trusted mechanic in NYC to clean EGR ports?

Change to a P28/30/72 ECU and ditch that stuff.

Re: h23v qith k mani ??

The intake manifold is a chunk of aluminum that routes air into the cyliner head. It has no wires. To put the K manifold on an H head you need an adapter plate that makes all the various bolts and...

Re: Prelude basemap from Phearable not working properly

How are you going to tune? If you have a way to datalog it's usually pretty easy to look at all the sensor values and see what doesn't look right. If the other ecu works fine then it must be...

Re: h23v questions

That sounds like a mixture of metric and thumb, and doesn't sound right. I would guess the bolts are either metric or not, unless they're from an antique rifle which might have any combination...

Re: O2 sensor testing

If it's consistently fluctuating in response to your throttle blips, then it's probably ok. However, here is a log of a bad sensor I had. It would be ok for a few laps then go weird:

Re: Replacement of CV boot via outer joint - A guide and some tips

Very nice! I have always been replacing both boots from the inboard end; I didn't know the outboard end could be taken apart.

Re: Time for my H23vtec build

Nice! Thanks for sharing your build and info. Which fuel were you using on they dyno? Was the 25deg timing the actual, or was that hondata plus the base or something like that?

Re: dyno numbers for a stock h22a4

That is a bit low. Are you running some giant wheels/tires? Check compression (pretty easy to do) and maybe look for an obvious restriction in the intake or exhaust (plugged up cat?). Good luck.

Re: h22a swap help.. Do jdm ecus check for vtec pressure switch ?

I would suggest using a P28/P30/P72 etc. instead of a P13, and tune it. Also, as I mentioned VTP should not put you in limp, so there is probably more going on.

Re: h22a swap help.. Do jdm ecus check for vtec pressure switch ?

Most jdm ecu's don't check VTP and most JDM engines don't have the sensor. If you are getting a code for it then I guess you need it. It shouldn't put you in limp mode though, so there may be more...

Re: M2B4 question

Did it drain the oil? If it's just the clutch housing you might be able to patch it up. The housings are usually different.

what "chip" are you running? Unplug the jumper to use the internal rom and see if you get any codes that way.

Re: What should i do? im lost....

I think the OBD2 us preludes have the TDC sensors on the oil pump, not the distributor. So it sounds like the ecu needs a TDC signal. If the engine you have doesn't have the sensor on the oil pump,...

Re: Wiring for H22a EGR Questions? not running good

Disconnect the EGR crap, get a P28 and tune it. At least get a H22 "chip" for the P28. I can do it, or you can google it or look on pgmfi.org. There are lots of guys like this that can set you up:...
