Re: Track Day/Weekend List (common items to bring)

You guys are hardcore!

You are probably racing. I only do HPDE.
I prep the car at home and then only take:
- Helmet
- Tire pressure gauge
- Phone and mount (for telemetry acquisition)

Re: Wheel Rub and Suspension Bounce When Cornering

For that to happen with standard diameter tires you'd need to be letting the suspension compress more than the stock suspension would, which is pretty weird. Maybe the coilovers weren't properly...

Re: Wheel Rub and Suspension Bounce When Cornering

I don't think that's too low at all. If you have at least 300 mm from the center of the wheel to the fender you should be good. My EK is at a similar height to yours (if anything, it's lower), has...

Re: Wheel Rub and Suspension Bounce When Cornering

What tire size are you running? Larger than stock tires will tend to rub if the car is lowered. 195/50 R15, 195/55 R15 or 205/50 R15 should be good. 195/50 R15 will minimize the chances of rubbing....

Re: OEM oil pan with pre-installed baffles availability?

Both Spoon and Mugen sell B-series baffled pans. Don't know if they're compatible with B18Bs, they're typically used in B16s and B18Cs.

Re: Removing tire rubber marks from your car

I've had good results with Poorboy's wheel sealant.

Re: Removing tire rubber marks from your car

I've found that applying sealant beforehand makes it really easy to clean the wheels. Brake dust and rubber fragments come off with a simple wipe. Never had any rub marks like the ones shown though.

Re: sjg88's HPDE DC2 Progress Build Thread

I measure the tread after every event and, knowing the wear pattern, rotate accordingly. At my home track the front-right takes a beating so I try to have the tire with the most tread there. Kind of...

Re: Wilwood DPHA Pad options?

I find that there is a larger selection of pads for the 7816 shape (16 mm thick instead of 12 mm) and you can have a machine shop grind them down to 12 mm prior to installation.

Re: AMR ENGINEERING GONE? SHIPPED COILOVER FOR WARRANTY NOW MIA.. WTF

Don't know if they're still active but avoid for sure. Bought a subframe brace back in April and nothing was shipped in over a month. Fortunately I used PayPal and got my money back.

Re: OEM EJ1/2 and EG rare and optional Parts

In Europe it came in all post-facelift EGs, special edition or not.

Also, fun fact regarding "rare EG parts". Portuguese-spec post-facelift EGs came with faster steering racks - the same in the DC...

Re: Best light weight battery 2016

Since the thread was bumped I'll take the opportunity to add that I've tried this and it works perfectly. I saved around 3 Kg by using a Yuasa YBX3054 (36 Ah, 330 CCA). This is the stock size on the...

Re: Road Racing / Autocross / Time Attack Picture Post!!!

Re: Cop28 's EK9 TypeR - A German Perspective

Nice car! Can you please provide some feedback on the KW v3 suspension? Isn't it too soft and understeer-biased?

Re: Eg hatch stiffer same eight springs

You can use springs from a heavier car, for instance an ITR. But it's not the right way to go about things. Just get properly-sized wheels.

Re: Which rear LCA for track Civic EK?

OE Honda or Function 7 if you are interested in weight reduction and don't mind the cost.

Re: Spoon twinblocks with mg rotors

Just to add for others that may find this thread: depending on the thickness of the brake pads you might need to shave them slightly. After installation on an EG6, there are 17.5 mm between the...

Re: Open Lapping/Race (Videos) - '93 del Sol Si (JDM GSR, ITR S80 5-speed)

Cool stuff! How do you rate the Del Sol vs the EK for track use? I heard chassis flex is a concern.

Re: Spoon twinblocks with mg rotors

Yes they will. I just had to use some narrow precision washers to center the disc perfectly. 0.5 mm wide IIRC.

Re: Stiffer rear springs or bigger sway bar?

Re: Stiffer rear springs or bigger sway bar?

The whole car is pretty perplexing. Is it me or are they using the stock front UCAs? How are they adjusting camber? Maybe the tires are so wide that they don't need to optimize camber?

I wish I...
