your syncros could also be shot.

try some GM syncromesh first, but if its stil griding you may want to call a local transmission shop and see what they charge for a syncro job.

ummm... my door has the VIN # on it.


as long as the VIN on the Dash is there... your good... if it matches the one on the Firewall... even better.... stop worrying so much.

there is a manual way to do it as said above.

im sure its not a 17mm its a small nut...something that can fit on the end of a screwdriver type attachment.
