Re: Replacing Oil Filter w/out going under (jl74)

You could always custom make a bunch of wood together and make it a ramp.

Re: mobil 1 15w50 users help???? (Drano81)

It will be slightly sluggish. I'm not sure exactly how much power you will lose or how much your mpg will drop. 15W50 for the GSR B18C is applicable when ambient temperatures are between -15C to...

Re: Misc Replies (pyromaster)

Pyro,

Like I said in your post at oildrop about your ITR analysis, you should use a heavier weight oil. You should see both a decrease in oil consumption, and a decrease in wear metals provided...

Re: Hearing chatter and burning oil?? (Rydaddy)

Check for leaks first before assuming that it is burning oil.

Re: burning oil? (cw98typer)

If it's really black smoke, you're most likely running rich. When you check your oil level again, be consistent as to WHEN you check it. You should check it when the motor is cold.

Re: burning oil? (cw98typer)

When you got your oil changed, did you actually check to see if the dipstick was indicating full? Are you really, really, really sure?

Re: 2 Questions: Oil & Brakes (Sand)

Ensure first that you are not leaking any oil before purchasing a synthetic brand such as Mobil.

Re: Burning oil ([VTEC]TL)

I recommend a minimum 0W40 or 5W40. If it is generally warm during the winter season, you could maybe try a 10W40 (I would consult the oil's spec sheet first though). I'm not going into details right...

Re: Where does a b-series get its air to idle? (teg92)

I believe both valves acts as an air management tool. Much like a wastegate limiting the amount of boost a turbo can run. I don't think you'll have a smooth idle once you remove the IACV, but I'm...

Re: My GSR is using oil (my96GSR)

It doesn't have to leak on the ground. Check and make sure your block and the surrounding areas are not moist.

If you are certain that you are not leaking, I suggest trying either 5W40, 10W40, or...

Re: My GSR is using oil (my96GSR)

- What oil weight are you using?
- Have you tried driving 1000miles without engaging VTEC?
- Are you 200% sure you are not leaking?

Re: Good deal on a 2G?? (::mindtrix::)

Price is too high. Don't buy from the dealer unless the car is COMPLETE MINT condition or you have a hookup. For that price, you could easily get a 92-93 GS-R or a low-trim G3.

For the conditions...

Stick with A. With B, you'll abnormally ruin your throwout bearing among other things.

Re: how much oil loss is considered normal? (SupaTegRS)

Alright, I'll be serious now.

You must 100% eliminate the fact that you are leaking. For the *MOST* part, once you leak, no oil will save you (again *MOST* of the time).

You're saying you see...

Re: Integra Oil Analysis? (jond)

jond,

It will take a while for me to get my oil analyzed. You'll probably have to wait until next year. I am currently running a 5W40 for my B16.

Re: what oil on a boosted itr? (DutchITR1689)

Re: what oil on a boosted itr? (itr449)

IMHO, I'd run a 0W40 formulation such Mobil SuperSyn or a 5W40 type like Mobil Delvac 1. I think Redline is coming out with their own 5W40 formulation as well. I'm running 5W40 in the winter right...

Re: what oil on a boosted itr? (The_Oz)

Check out the thread that never dies. If you have a turbo, I would stick with a minimum 10W30. I personally stick with 5W40 all-motor or force-induced. But that's my opinion.
