we have helped setup several of these, most them will run a standard 90 degree bend out back past the rear tire; pretty simple to mod your current exhaust to get this setup

Actually most tubing is measured OD (outside diameter); its a standard rule of thumb as there are many variations of thickness and those all would reflect the ID (inside diameter) I believe magnaflow...

If you want just an adapter, I can help you out with a flare transition section. Goes 2.5 to 3", better yet, i would do a 3" down to 2.5" (just flip it around) so that the pipe is more 3" then 2.5"....
