Yes, but not enough to make a difference. I have it spaced like half an inch and it hasn't helped. It only runs hot when it's like 90 degrees out - it has to be heat soak. I'm sure downpipe...

Looks like the Mallory HyFire 6AL is a direct wire for wire match to the MSD unit, so I'm going to get that as a replacement for now.
