Re: Stupidly optimistic overtaking results in big crash

What this guy did is wrong regardless of the type of car he was driving. The fact he's in a MIata in no way excuses a low-percentage maneuver at high speed. Thinking a 1/2 car width is enough at...

Re: Front steering Column juter under threshold braking

Look forward to the update. Keep in mind that rotor size, sessions etc, mean little. Everytime you go out on track the pads go through their cold state to hot state and layer to the rotor...

Re: Front steering Column juter under threshold braking

Look at your brake rotor. The transfer layer should be perfectly smooth and uniform. If there's a "pattern" then you have an uneven transfer layer which produces the exact symptom you are describing....

Re: Jordan Cox Civic EG at Bathurst 12 hours

On several approaches behind the yellow car, he was fully committed to extremely narrow margins without making contact, without incident or mistake. The kudos also go to the other driver for being...

Re: Repacked Bearings

New car is white.. pure white, inside and out. I call it the "zen garden".

Bearings still feel new. Still on the same set of axles I was 2 years ago.

Re: 2015 RACE videos

Palmer Motorsports look like it was inspired by Camino Viejo from Forza 4. It also looks like a bundle of fun, a track that will cause some folks to vomit in their helmets and a track that may...

Re: h2 east coast champs race

That Accord (CB7?) is rather well suited to that track. Really pulls on the 2nd half of the straights. Sure kept you behind him for awhile which surprised me but then it seemed like he let you by...

Re: Knowledge...Dust...Wind...Brainwaves...Echos...Sil ence...Did you hear something?

Not up here it isn't. There were 12 entries in ITA at the last race at Pacific Raceways and each year and the number of Hondas has increased between ITA/H4/STL equivalent classes. Just this year...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2015 Season Thread

I really like what Indy has done so I can't begrudge the series. I can begrudge the idea of open wheel cars on oval tracks. First it's unsafe (and by unsafe I mean unnecessarily within the realm of...

Re: Coolant temps exceed 215* after just 10 mins of track time.

I don't see how an electric water pump is the "right" solution here.

The OEM water pump moves lots of volume. The cooling problem is a function of cooling system capacity to dispel heat,...

Re: Coolant temps exceed 215* after just 10 mins of track time.

I'm pretty sure the NASCAR cooling systems run pressures greater than we do.. We usually run caps that are limited to 13-18psi. I suspect those NASCAR engines run in the neighborhood of 25 psi or...

Re: Coolant temps exceed 215* after just 10 mins of track time.

Once that air enters through the bumper, you need to shroud in such a way that 100% of it (as an ideal) flow through it. Right now, I bet you have a good amount of air flowing around it, instead of...

Re: Track/race oil

The blackness leads me to believe it hates being hot as well. I've seen other places where (maybe not the best sources) say that if using it in a high revving it should be changed very often.

Re: P1 Spec Splitters

I lost my splitter during the last race weekend. Large off-roading session. Strangely enough the impact absorbed by the splitter saved the header and most of the brake ducting.

The air dam...
