i got the same problem 81x89 11.5 compression,pro 1s making 232 hp 159 tq,intake 1+ exhaust 1+ car stop making power at 8200 rpm and getting a vac reading of ~6hg at full trotle,would i benefit more...

disasamble the vtec selenoid from the top and push the little piston down if goes down using to much force,take it off and sand it with 1500 sand paper,that should fix it,99%of the cars i do with...

the code is stamped on the block front side,under intake manifold ,dont worry the number wont match the vin thats on your car everyone is like that,now the real vin number is stamped on my ap2 right...
