Re: Civic Type R to US

The bad news is, they don't sell the Civic in Japan anymore. So unless they bring over just the CTR, there will be no JDM spec.

The good news is that the Euro CTR is not half-assed like previous...

Re: Civic Type R to US

My thing is that you can't make a RWD Civic so AWD is the next best thing. At the very least we'll probably get at least one more MR car that is cheaper than the NSX in a few years.

Ugh, every...

Re: Civic Type R to US

To be perfectly honest I feel like the FWD ship has all but sailed for me. I too wasn't really too enamored with the concept of 250 hp FWD turbo cars, much less 300. Only reason I would even...

Re: Civic Type R to US

I'd imagine even the new Euro CTR will be less than 3000 lbs and thankfully for performance cars it seems like cars are getting lighter again. The last couple of all new Hondas have been losing...

Re: Civic Type R to US

Yet, that is exactly what every Type-R is. They take a body in white of the mass market chassis, make their modifications to the suspension hard points and do their chassis stiffening (either with...

Re: Civic Type R to US

Homologation simply means they have to make a certain number of a certain car to be eligible to race in a given race class. All of the JDM Type-R's were homologated for racing and even more mass...

Re: Civic Type R to US

The driver aides don't really make someone better, they just lessen the impact of mistakes. I'm not saying a good driver needs them, but I am saying the vast majority of people who own performance...

Re: Civic Type R to US

You could say the same of every JDM Type-R ever made. All of them are stripped-down, hardcore cars. Only reasons they've gotten heavier is because A. they're stiffer, B. crash and safety standards...

Re: Civic Type R to US

Well, the Civic isn't even sold in Japan anymore so there is no JDM version.

Anyone who has driven the FD2R would disagree with your assessment. There's a reason that any journalist worth his...

Re: Civic Type R to US

Sure the DC5R and EP3R were the first generation of strut cars (which mostly had trouble with rear suspension geometry) but even then they were faster, stiffer cars than the DC2R.

Euro R's in...

Re: Civic Type R to US

I was at the show yesterday, and the car shown IS NOT the Type-R. The USDM Type-R will come after the coupe, sedan, and new 5-door are launched. What that means is that the 'Ring record Euro CTR is...

Re: WSBK: monza

Haga hit a bird in race 2, lacerated muscle in his arm and couldn't brake for parabolica. Spies ran out of gas in race 1. Real shame, he rode really well in that race.

As for the crash in race...

Re: ***Official 2009 MotoGP thread!!!

FP2 was wet and qualifying was cancelled so they went back to the dry times from FP1. Looks like it'll be a dry race on Sunday so it's anyone's guess. I think Hayden will finish top ten probably.

Welp, day 2 is coming to a close here. It's been a hell of a day, I had to drive all the way back to Germany to extend my car rental until Monday. One would think the Germans would have it together...

Re: Live at Assen WSBK

Nah I won't be able to do Miller this year as well just because I'm going to be in Europe for a full month so it'd be a stretch on the budget and at work to take off for Miller. I'll probably be...

Re: Thinking about getting a 2007 CBR1000

Yeah I wouldn't recommend anything above a 600 cc supersport for your first bike, and even then, something like a 600RR is pushing it. Small mistakes in throttle application are punished severly...
