Re: Autobahn - NASA July 17/18 HPDE / Race Weekend

Since I've not been really in the Honda set for a while or lived in Chicago for a long time now...what is WMHM?

Re: Autobahn - NASA July 17/18 HPDE / Race Weekend

I'm running the enduro too in a Spec-944 so that should be fun. Who are you co-driving with?

Re: FS: July August Wheels Tires

Just a thought: Some useful info for those of us who buy or sell used track tires is to list if they were originally shaved and how many heat cycles or sessions they've been through.

Anyone going to the Autobahn NASA event? I'll be there with 944-Spec racing the #74.

Re: Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec

There's a $20 rebate on Direzzas at least at discount tire direct. I don't know if it will apply to the Star Spec.

Re: Anyone here done a LeMons race?

Not that I know of yet. I'm sure that is something that needs to be considered.

Anyone here done a LeMons race?

I'm going to be co driving a 15 hour LeMons race in July. I've done a couple "enduros" (2 - 3 hour races) but never one like this. We'll be racing a beater of a 97 GTI.

I'm thinking of...

Re: Which B-SERIES frankenstein combo works best for road racing/autocross?

I see a lot of guys (Hondas and Subarus especially) where the owners spend a lot of money modifying / tuning / etc to their cars - do an occasional track day and they cannot get better as a driver...

Re: Brake duct installs

Run the hose to the inner part of the rotor so that the venting can be more effective.

I now run brake ducting to all my cars I track b/c I've found that the inside pads tend to wear much faster...

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

Well according to several posters here including yours oil has nothing to do with cooling an engine. As I expected I'm talking to experts here right? I'm amazed at the professional opinions I'm...

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

Fan helps when running in traffic and definitely when sitting still or in the pits coming out and cooling down. Hard wire the fans so you can turn them on / off - I run a warning light when the...

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

Gotta love this statement. You want me to run oil through a system created for water. Hmm...how about you run water/coolant instead of oil and see how long the engine runs?

I digress - read up...

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

Please read my statements again. I don't say that engines can run without coolant at all (some are simply jumping to this conclusion). The water/air cooling systems of today's engines are key...

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

IIRC if you run tap water or spring water corrosion becomes a major problem b/c of mineral deposits and other impurities in the water - they better create surface for corrosion to adhere to. If you...

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

I agree with what you guys are saying - but please understand that I see if differently from experience with not only Hondas but several other makes of cars (whether air or water cooled).

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

Oil does have a cooling effect on the engine (besides for lubrication of bearings, etc.) as it does go through the head and some passages (just does not surround the cylinder walls of modern...

Re: Who doesn't use Water Wetter?

The water cooling systems on our cars is only an supplementary system. The primary cooling system is actually performed by the oil in the engine (not just for lubrication). By adding an oil cooler...

Re: B16 OBD0 TO OBD1 WITH CONVERSION HARNESS Help it's been a long time

Re: B16 OBD0 TO OBD1 WITH CONVERSION HARNESS Help it's been a long time

Here's what I did - it costs more but it is much safer to do and much less time consuming. I'm also not the best to just rewire something. So I just did the rywire conversion with ecu jumper...
